About this listen

When an elderly couple is found dead in their own home, Chevy and Seneca are pulled into the case. But what's unusual is that it appears neither of them were killed; instead, they simply stopped existing. Even with Chevy's ability to go into the memories of the victims, he's unable to tell what happened to the seemingly normal couple.

That is, until it happens again. This time, the victims are found alive, all of them kneeling and staring at a blank wall as if hypnotized by it. It's up to Chevy and Seneca to figure out what is drawing these people and who might be manipulating them.

But when Seneca begins to act strangely, Chevy becomes concerned that he might also be affected by what is controlling the others. Chevy will do anything to keep the man he loves safe and as far from "The Light" as he can. But is it too late?

Even better than the first in this series!

I enjoy this sequel more than the first book because even though it’s a bit heavy with the crime solving there was much more relationship building between the two MC and their families and coworkers. The first book was much like watching a horror movie that changed channels abruptly to comedy. This book was much more balanced and believable in the transitions. I love Alice Winters for her hilarious scenarios and this book has some of my all time favorite scenes. The ranch crotch, the glitter bomb, the booty bongos and the beloved count down to the tiny penetration calendar. As always Joel Leslie delivered a wonderful performance that equally had me rolling with laughter and made chills run down my spine. Every Alice Winter’s book is a pleasure and this one does not disappoint.

need book #3! ... and 4,5,6....

this series is the series that has forced me to bite the bullet and actually leave a review. I never leave reviews because I don't want to influence someone else's reading but this series is just perfection. I sincerely hope there are more books in the future because I love Chevy & Seneca (& Jinx). Joel Leslie's narroration is phenomenal as always, but pairing it with the quick witty banter makes it that much more satisfying. I love that the plot of the first book drives the action of the second, we've gotten to know the world and our MCs, now we get to see how the strength and fears gained have impacted who each character is. I want a book from Seneca's POV now, especially with their powers growing. love love love these 2, please give me more!
side note - the pillowcase aspect is the lighthearted touch this book needed to keep it going. 10/10 would recommend.

Pillowcase Cult

The problem with this book is I want more books in the series after this one, and at least as of this moment, they don't exist. Once again Seneca and Chevy face off against a bad guy with terrifyingly strong powers, but this time they've made a cult of pillowcase wearing psychos with no impulse control. This creates both hilarious and terrifying side effects. Do read this one - it's great.

Laugh out loud dark!

I’m not sure how a book can be written with such dark back stories while being so funny I dang near pee myself! But here we are! I hope this series keeps on coming. This was phenomenal!

the story against was very well done.

the twist and turns are good and not completely predictable which for me is hard to come across. there is so much chemistry and the laughs!! I laugh so much during these but am also so enthralled in the story. they have such a funny and more realist relationship that I love listening/reading

Just as suspenseful and ridiculous as the first

Thankfully this one was not as scary as book 1 but it was just as funny (sometimes bordering ridiculous) and suspenseful as the first. Once you're 30 minutes into Joel Leslie's narration you begin to greatly appreciate his talent (this coming from someone who wouldn't purchase a book narrated by him)

Worth the credit

The boys are back and the creepy factor is in full effect. The story line will keep you engaged from start to finish. The humor and banter between the MC’s is great and Joel Leslie makes it perfect. Worth the credit.

Lost indeed

I loved Joel's performance and would have gushed about it even if I didn't like the story, but lucky for me, I really enjoyed it too.

In this second installment of these two, we find out that apparently Seneca's power is much different than anyone could imagine and that Chevy has not been using his as much as he could have. The pillowcase cult shows up and hijinks ensue.

I really wish the series had continued but it did make me realize that I need dual povs in my books.

The pillowcase cult! Hilarious

This book was so much fun, I don't think I've ever laughed this much listening to a book. I nearly spit my coffee all over my keyboard at one point.
