Publisher's summary

Number-one New York Times best-selling author Kresley Cole continues her electrifying Immortals After Dark series with this thrilling tale, revealing secrets of the Lore, fierce realm of the immortals....

All fear the enemy of old.

Driven by his insatiable need for revenge, Lothaire, the Lore’s most ruthless vampire, plots to seize the Horde’s crown. But bloodlust and torture have left him on the brink of madness - until he finds Elizabeth Peirce, the key to his victory. He captures the unique young mortal, intending to offer up her very soul in exchange for power, yet Elizabeth soothes his tormented mind and awakens within him emotions Lothaire believed he could no longer experience.

A deadly force dwells within her.

Growing up in desperate poverty, Ellie Peirce yearned for a better life, never imagining she’d be convicted of murder - or that an evil immortal would abduct her from death row. But Lothaire is no savior, as he himself plans to sacrifice Ellie in one month’s time. And yet the vampire seems to ache for her touch, showering her with wealth and sexual pleasure. In a bid to save her soul, Ellie surrenders her body to the wicked vampire, while vowing to protect her heart.

Centuries of cold indifference shattered.

Elizabeth tempts Lothaire beyond reason, as only his fated mate could. As the month draws to a close, he must choose between a millennia-old blood vendetta and his irresistible prisoner. Will Lothaire succumb to the miseries of his past - or risk everything for a future with her?

COULDN'T STOP LISTENING!!!!

Well I've just finished this fantastic book and I feel it was well worth losing a weekend over. It had everything - hot handsome sexy vampire, good story, great narrator, steamy love scenes and of course romance - what more can you ask for.

Never stop writing Kresley and let's have more books by her on Audible please please please 'cause there's a chunck of books missing in the series.

Best story yet!!

What other book might you compare Lothaire to and why?

Dark Needs at Night's Edge, maybe I'm just a sucker for bad boys that you gotta love! Their behavior can be "horrible", but when you find out what makes them that way, your heart breaks with them.

Have you listened to any of Robert Petkoff’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

He is the best male author I have listened to this far.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed, cringed, held my breath, cried and sighed.

Any additional comments?

This book seemed full. With a little bit of everything that has happened since the start. Because of that you have a lot of back story that's interesting but it adds on to the prior stories from a different view. Totally worth the wait..

Best one of this series!

Kresley wrote a story with some wonderful voices, and Robert Petkoff didn't disappoint. I loved the development of the love interest and the play between someone that grew up in a loving and tight clan and someone that had next to no life experience giving unconditional love, but was not shy about demanding it.

The reader was excellent, doing the accents quite well and added a lot of humour and emotion to the story.

Great book!

Oh Boy!!! This was delicious!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I've already reccommend this book and the enitre Immortals series!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Lothaire?

the Loveseat. Anybody who reads this book and does not remember the scene on the loveseat...DID NOT READ THIS BOOK.

Have you listened to any of Robert Petkoff’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've heard a couple of his other readings...In this one, the heat and power and sensuality of Lothaire streamed right out of the headphones. Robert Petkoff makes Lothaire.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Even 'Pure Evil' can be tamed by love.

Any additional comments?

I'll let you know when I read/listen to the rest of the Immortals series...this was my first. I'm ready.

Wonderful and Funny Story!!

This story was hillarious!!! The narrator Robert Petkoff was an excellent choice. He really really brought the character Lothaire to life. I laughed so much listening to this book. The only two issues I had with this book was the love screens were a little bit cheesy and that Robert could not really pull off the voice of Ellie Peirce. I think they should have had another narrator to do her part. However, do not let this stop you from purchasing this book, it's still a wonderful pick.

Book 12

I'm still not in love with Lothaire, but his story did soften my heart towards him a bit. Lothaire and Elizabeth's story is tumultuous and harsh but as both histories are revealed the audience begins to understand their character, morals, and actions. Ms. Cole does a fabulous job with creating a captivating tale and weaving in past and new characters. Robert Petkoff is an amazing narrator. I will definitely purchase additional books that he narrates.

GREAT!

Any additional comments?

I've been listening to the Imortals after Dark series, and have enjoyed ever one I've finished so far. This one was no exception. It's written by Kresley Cole and narrated by Robert Petkoff, the dynamic duo! Need I say more.
