About this listen

Waking up to a text asking why you stood up your blind date is not the best way to start the day, especially when the man in question is standing half-dressed in your kitchen.

Maybe Dakota Newton shouldn’t have assumed the gorgeous man with a devastating smile standing outside the coffee shop was her date. She probably - okay, she definitely shouldn’t have slept with him, regardless of how hot the chemistry between them was. But how could she have known Mr. Right was actually Mr. Wrong?

Braxton Adams has been called a few things in his life, but a liar was never one of them. That all changes when he’s approached by a beautiful woman who thinks he’s there to meet her for a date.

As a businessman, Brax knows to trust his gut and never let an opportunity pass him by, so he pretends to be someone he’s not.

Maybe he shouldn’t have lied. Maybe he should have come clean. But in the end, it doesn’t matter, because now he has to prove he’s not the wrong man, but the right one.

So what if he’s not the man she was expecting? She’s the one he’s been waiting for.

Great Book

5 Star. First 5 star is a 20 book slump. I was sad it ended.

the Right Man

I never pass up a chance to read Aurora Rose Reynolds books as they never disappoint in any aspect. They are fun and hot and have a little mystery to them. This story between Braxton and Dakota was no different. Always enjoyable to take your mind off everyday life!

Mixed

Ok, I get why some people are up in arms about the controlling nature of the men in the story, but this is fiction. That's what the story is about. That said, it was a basic book that never really got off the ground for me. It was an ok "Insta-Love" story line, but everything still fell a little flat. I probably won't buy more from this author for a while, but I will definitely be keeping an eye out as she continues to hone her craft. If you are interested in a "hot" beach read with a man who knows what he wants and isn't afraid to push to convince his woman, this is just what you're looking for.

Not what I expected

This story turned out to be a mystery. I could not get into the characters as I really did not learn much about them except the H was somewhat a controlling alpha and the h was immature struggling with childhood trauma. Steamy scenes seem to dominate the story as it was the main connection between the characters. Story was not as described in summary.

Enjoyable

I enjoyed this story. Sure the H was a domineering Alpha but I liked that because the h didn't just take it sitting down. I do wish there was a bit more closure with the ex and a bit more explanation with the whole "threat" because honestly I felt like that came out of no where and for me there were some questions left hanging. The narration is done well and it's a fairly quick listen that helped me through my day.

What this book celebrates as a "right" man--?

How very disappointing to have such a weak female character. She just got out of a bad relationship where she felt she wasn't herself and had to do everything to please the other guy. Red flags go off on the "wrong/right" man: he lies about who he is when they meet because he wants her. He has her followed within days of meeting her. He tracks her via electronic watch without her permission and tries to control her job position since he's the guy who owns the company and all... He's frustrated when she doesn't respond immediately to his many texts/calls. IN ANY OTHER SITUATION IN LIFE we'd be calling the police and reporting him as a stalker or as having the potential to lead to domestic violence. BUT IN THIS BOOK: the "happy" ending is that she realizes that he only did all these things to "keep her safe" and "take care of her." This was the right book to realize that this is the wrong author to ever read again.

It's not a love story

The summary implies a meet cute but he's a controlling stalker & she's a pushover who constantly lies to her friends, family, and coworkers. She's just left a controlling relationship where she was cheated on and she consistently makes assumptions without letting anyone explain anything and ignores the man. Her actions don't justify his, but he somehow ends up being less annoying.
It's a bunch of mind games masquerading as a book.
