About this listen

A former spy with dangerous secrets fears nothing...except his dark desire for the delicate virgin he cannot have.

A prisoner of his past

Gabriel Ridgley, the Marquess of Tremont, is dubbed "The Angel" for his pristine reputation. Yet, he harbors a dark secret. As a spy during the Napoleonic wars, he bears deep and dangerous scars. When he meets Miss Dorothea Kent, a delicate virgin, he is torn between carnal desire and the need to protect her from his inner demons.

A captive of her passions

Despite a frail constitution, Thea Kent has strength of spirit and heart. A wild attraction blooms between her and Gabriel, a widowed aristocrat with tortured eyes, yet he resists the pull between them. When fate places his disabled son in her care, she's determined to guard the boy...and unravel the mystery of Gabriel's past.

Freed by love and passion

Someone is killing Gabriel's former colleagues, and he may be next on the list. As the desperate hunt for the villain begins, he and Thea get entangled in intrigue, betrayal, and desire too powerful to resist. Will trust help them to survive...and true love set them free?

I think I've this second book better than the first book in the series and I just loved that book. Nice to see a shy girl get her man.

Better and better

This book had everything. Great characters, great dialogue, great mystery, great action, great passion and sexual interludes, danger, love, romance. Needless to say I enjoyed it beginning to end. Oh! The narrator was amazing!

All of Grace Callaway’s work is excellent, and this book was no exception. Such engaging & endearing characters—I love “Fredward”!!!—can’t wait to see them again as the series continues. Fabulously hot heroes. Perfect narration.

Loved it!

Grace Callaway did it again, so did Marian Hussey. I wish Marian was the narrator of all of Grace Callaways books. I missing several stories because the narrator was terrible. Thankfully there’s enough information in this one to bring all the characters to life.
The heat in this book was perfect. I love that throughout there was passion and intrigue. The story kept me guessing which made for an exciting ending.
Freddy was one of my favorite characters, I wonder if they will be a book about him and his future love.
Gabriel and Dorothea were a great match. The use of sexual dominance within their relationship wasn’t overdone, and it was truly enjoyed by both parties. I do love how Dorothea was able to assert her own dominance outside of the bedroom. She wasn’t a simpering miss, but had her own power and strength.
Great book. Can’t wait for the next listen.

Oh, so good.

it was ok. I kept listening hoping for a good twist but too predictable and quite boring. Also too many similarities between the love story of the prior book.

Too similar to the previous book
