About this listen

Vivian and Hadley find themselves in a situation that is even more threatening than the dead walking the earth. Kidnapped by armed men and taken deep into Las Vegas, they're cut off from anyone who cares about them and thrust into a world so sick and twisted that it can only be described as madness. With little hope of being found, Vivian and Hadley must team up with one of the very men who abducted them if they have any hope of escaping their new nightmare.

Watching Vivian get thrown into the back of a van almost tears Axl apart, and he's determined to find her no matter what it takes. With the tension growing between him and Angus, Axl finds himself wondering if the price will be his relationship with his brother. Putting both old and new wounds aside, Axl and Angus must infiltrate the group holding Vivian and Hadley and make their escape through a zombie-ridden Vegas.

More please :)

This was such a good book! Once I started listening to this book, I did not want to put it down. At this point, I am going to have to admit that I have become slightly obsessed with this series. That is a good thing. A very good thing. I am completely invested in this group of characters and really want to see them flourish despite the horrendous world that they must live in. I really had a wonderful time with this book.

One thing that was a little different about this book as compared to the previous two is the fact that we get to see not only Vivian's perspective but Axl's as well. I do have to say that it did take me a minute to adjust to another point of view and a second narrator but I found that I really ended up appreciating that second point of view.

This is not a feel-good story. Don't get me wrong, there are some moments when things actually work out for the characters but overall this was not a pleasant tale. This story is set in a world where the dead walk the streets but the real enemies are often other survivors. This story illustrates some of the evil that humans can do to others but it also shows the strength of people put in the worst situation. I love the fact that despite the fact this group of characters always have each other's backs and try to do the right thing.

I do love the characters in this book. It was great to see the progress in the relationships between the characters. There were a few character losses that broke my heart just a little. I have a lot of respect for this group that never gives up even when things seem to be at their worst. There are a lot of really terrible things that happen in this installment so these characters are definitely tested in this installment.

I thought that Hillary Huber and Patrick Lawlor did a great job with the narration of this book. I was a little surprised by the addition of the male narrator but I think he did a great job of representing Axl. The two narrators did a great job with all of the characters voices and I thought that they added a lot of excitement to the story.

I would recommend this series to others. This is the third book in the Broken World series which is a series that really does need to be read in order. I found this story to be both heartbreaking and hopeful and can't wait to find out what happens to this group of characters next!

I received a review copy of this audiobook from the author.

Book 3 Done!

(Carbon Copy of my review in the first book in the series)

Broken world and the rest of the books in the series (which I finished as well) is a great series I enjoyed the characters and the storyline and it never got boring. it was both realistic and feasible in terms of what an end of world zombie invasion might be like. I'll tell you what IF and when it does happen I'll refer back to what Axel and Vivian did to survive! I ain't joking lol

Props to the author for a well done enjoyable series!

Updated Review For Book 3:

Book 3 continues to amaze and continues the story where it left off from book one it just gets better from here. my original review that I posted on book one and copied above still applies.

Big story

This book manages to achieve multiple climaxes...

The one main story was really enough, but it kept going and when you think that that must be the end, it goes on for one more climax and an exciting conclusion. I was a tiny bit unsatisfied with one resolution in the end, but this was deliberate by the author but I'm unsure why. It kinda gnaws at me. I was so on edge for much of this book.

The strangest thing was when I was worried about a plot development and thought they would miss it, but no, they anticipated it too! They even had an emergency plan "in case", yet crap still happens anyways.

My past gripes were answered and it turns out the author was just keeping me in suspense during the previous two books. I also figure Angus was/is just a bit crazy so he gets a free card to act a strange. In this book it does turn out he isn't as simple as everyone thought he was.

Both narrators are very good and I think it's great that there are two. You'd think that they would narrate at the same with each doing the appropriate gender voice, but I guess they must have tested that and maybe it sounds funny. Like other books with two narrators, each takes over the whole chapter when it's either Axl or Vivian. Luckily it doesn't happen too often that Patrik Lawlor has to do female voices, particularly when you know there is a good female narrator available who could have just spoken the female lines. He was a bit over excited at the start, but I guess so was Axl.

I'm really glad there is more coming in this series, I hope it never ends.

it was decent

Way too much sex. After she gets back from the hotel, she is too exhausted to have her wounds checked, but not for sex? Also after almost being raped, she has sex that night? Doubtful.

Repetitive writing. For instance about how the brothers both pucker their lips. WE GET IT, they look alike.

Vivian and axl are a bit unbearable, but is a good story overall. Also I kind of hate the male narrator.

Please add entire series to Audible

Why only have part of a series? I want to get Twisted World but I don't have time to read on kindle books. I've spent alot of money on audible and would like it if your not going to add entire series to mention this on info page. And maybe have a way to see if series you already have new books without having to go back and search...

Axel

I am sorry, but it was painful to listen to Axel’s part. Just painful. I like the idea of having two speakers, but there had to of been better ways to portray him.

Just WOW!!!

I am really not a zombie post apoc reader, but was instantly captivated by the work of Kate Mary and the narration. I loved the story line and the way they just come alive in my mind. Great series and can't wait for the next one...

Pretty good Zombie series.

This is the 3rd book in this series, and not a standalone. I'm enjoying this series more than I thought I would, with each entry improving the world building. Listening to the audio, the dual narration took a little getting used to after the 1st 2 books with single narration. I didn't like Axel's voice at 1st, but after a while I realized the narrator captured his personality well.
I like all 3 main characters in this story, Vivian has a few annoying moments, a few TSTL moments, But mostly manages to hold her own. Axel is a character that you really grow to like. And Angus, O Angus, he is such a jerk but my favorite character. I live in terror that something will happen to his character, I hope he makes it to the end of the series.
Gory stinky zombies, nothing new there but an enjoyable series it's been really nicely fast paced

Really?

Why add another narrator in the third book and make it a guy who sounds nothing like the character would
