Publisher's summary

Thirty-one-year-old matchmaker Lola James had it all – until she broke her leg at a wedding and discovered that her so-called ‘best friend’ was suddenly too busy to call, her flat had far too many steps, and her boyfriend replaced her quicker than you can say ‘crutches’.

And so she’s back at her parents’ B&B, sleeping in the living room (she can’t get upstairs) and having her hair washed by her mum (she can’t get in the shower).

Freshly single and with a lot of time on her hands, Lola is only too pleased to run into gorgeous Dr Will, an old friend who has definitely improved with age… And then there’s Dean, a divorcé who’s convinced he’s better off alone – no matter how lonely he is.

Can Will help mend Lola’s broken heart as well as her leg? Can she help Dean find love? As a wise man once said, sometimes the one for you is right under your nose, all along…

An uplifting, laugh-out-loud romantic comedy, perfect for fans of Sophie Kinsella, Holly Martin and Jo Watson.

Enjoyable light romance

I enjoyed this story. The main female character had superficial friends, but she herself was not superficial, and when she returned to her hometown she realized, by comparison to the locals, that her friends were not true friends. She tried to help people and in the end she made a place for herself and for a new relationship. The main male character was a really good person who just had some insecurities about not being good enough to be in a relationship. There were a few kissing scenes but nothing spicy and the one sex event was fade to black. There was some swearing at the beginning when she broke her leg and was in pain. She said the same word (sh*t) about 20 times but after that, I don't remember much swearing. This was a cute rom-com, a light and enjoyable read.

Ok but not the best

Story line was ok but the over exaggerated difficulties of life with a broke leg got on my nerves ! Not sure why having a broke leg prevents you from brushing your own hair …. !

Lovely LOL Rom Com💕

I love this author's feel good, funny romances and the narrator has really grown on me (she always does a great job on multiple voices...but the MC voice sounded affected to me in earlier books). Many laugh out loud moments AND some really touching reflections on the importance of family and true friends...

My favorite pair has done it again…

There is nothing like waking up and seeing an email that your pre-order from your favorite narrator has just been added to your Audible. Portia and Karen are a perfect pairing of a wonderful story, told with perfect character narration. Thoroughly enjoyed this book in a one day listen.

The narrator

Usually love this author but I feel it was saved by narration. Keep up the great stories you usually write
