About this listen
In a world with more and more photographers, where everyone has phones with multiple cameras in them, many photographers who want to make their job what they love find it difficult. It's difficult because of one thing: Unless you're independently wealthy, you have to pay the bills. Doing the creative work of photography full-time requires a business that produces significant revenue.
I have been blessed and worked hard to make a living out of creating images with the press of the shutter button. I'm proud to be a working professional photographer, and I am happy to share 10 important principles I followed to get here.

Story
If you want to create interesting photos that will go above Instagram selfies and vacation memories, you need to switch to manual mode. You probably bought your first semi-professional or professional camera, but it looks so complicated. With all the buttons and switches, new cameras might look scary at the beginning. It’s easy to get overwhelmed. Auto mode is the safest bet, and it served you well up until now.

Solid Content, but...
Solid beginner, intermediate content, for the photographer who is finding the business basics evasive. But please, please, simce you're a professional photographer, practice what you preach, and hire a professional reader.

Simple and effective
Jon explained his journey and results of following those principals in his success, in a very simple way. Great audiobook to listen and a great reminder of the steps every photographer should take to go to the next level. Short, into the point and effective. Well done Jon

nice and concise...not for pro photographers
short and very easy, contains one very good pill of wisdom, charge more than you are comfortable with! absolutely key in my opinion. there was nothing to take home for me though...and I'm in business as a freelance only since 2020...so yeah if you are thinking about getting started as a freelance photographer then it's good advice...but still hard to recommend due to it's length, can't bash it though because everything stated is either correct or a nice POV on doing business...but again way too short and in my eye stating the obvious for the most part.

Just what I needed
This books was just what I need to reset and refocus. I will take these principles and apply with the hopes starting my 2023 off with a bang. I feel more confident in the decision I have made to be a Branding Photographer.
Thank you!!

Gets to the point!
I really appreciated that this book got straight to the point. If a future edition is ever planned, a few more anecdotes could be introduced and perhaps an index of resources. And as your headshot career extends into the future those anecdotes may threaten to eclipse the teaching moments! I look forward the edition that talks about how to reduce studio expenses/temptations so more earnings go into the take-home pile. 😄

Thank you for the parts about critics and getting better. I like the points you gave and it helped me to connect at my 20 year high school reunion.

Interesting story and some good advice, very short
So I liked his story, but he seems to have gotten lucky in some aspects of his career. This audio book is also very short. Much shorter than expected.
