Publisher's summary

Is there room for two in that sleeping bag?

When it comes to love, a chiseled loner takes the scenic route in this irresistible stand-alone from the author of Eye Candy ["Truly the perfect romantic comedy." (Lauren Layne].

Dax: After spending months buried up to my eyeballs in my family's affairs, I'm ready for a break. The kind of break where I can spend two solid weeks camping and fishing in the company of absolutely no one. Then I find myself directly in the path of a drop-dead gorgeous tornado by the name of Becca Stone. Who can resist a night with a damsel in distress? Especially when she happens to be a leggy blonde? The last thing I expect is for Becca to show up on my cabin doorstep the next night, shivering in the rain and ready for seconds.

Becca: One minute I'm admiring the rock-hard jaw of the Magic Mike lookalike who walks into my bar, and the next I'm getting fired by my own brother. Loudly. In front of everyone. Luckily Dax Vaughn is a gentleman who aims his white-hot smile at me. Oh, it's on. Wham, bam, thank you ma'am. Then a torrential storm washes out the main road and causes a massive power outage, giving us two whole weeks to enjoy each other's company. At which point Dax will go back home, leaving "us" in the rearview mirror. That's the plan. Or it was...until I started falling for him.

Awesome!

This was my first Jessica Lemmon story, but it won't be my last. It was filled with humor along with the sexy moments and I just couldn't put the book down. I'd love to be stranded in a storm with Dax and was just a touch jealous of Becca. I enjoyed both character's development and loved watching their romance blossom.

The dual narration was perfect. I could listen to these two all day. Their pacing was on point and the poured so much emotion into their performances. I couldn't ask for more.

I'm going to have to pick up more books in this series,,,, I'm hooked.

great addition to the series

Dax recently lost his dad and decides to take time away from McGreevies bar, which he owns, by renting a cabin in the woods where he meets Becca.
Becca is 27 and still trying to find herself while she works for her brother at Grand Lark cabins, well that was until she showed up late for work again and he fired her.

There is an instant attraction between Dax and Becca. What they thought would be a one-night-stand turned into a lot longer thanks to mother nature and the torrential rain storm that has them stuck in the cabin for a couple of weeks.

This was a fun and steamy read that was more enjoyable thanks to the wonderful narration done by Savannah Richards and Christian Rummel who really did a great job with Dax and Becca's story.

Happy Reading!!!

Sweet, minimal drama

Dax and Becca hit it off right away and while he's open to more with her much sooner, she is very commitment shy and has a hard time admitting to herself how much she has fallen for Dax. I liked that there wasn't a bunch of unnecessary drama, just that which actually made logical sense to the story.
The narrators were good; I really liked the male narrators voice - his voice is deep enough to give some tingles but not so deep it makes you think "well this guy is most likely a smoker battling lung cancer".
Her voice was enjoyable as well - not breathy or overly dramatic, but normal so that you don't find yourself even thinking about her voice (if that makes sense?)
They both need to work on voices for the opposite sex but not because their voices were irritating or over the top, they just weren't very believable.

Didn’t like it

Why sex had to be the main theme? This seems to be a norm in a romance genre. I was not an hour in, all the characters talked about how good the other one looked. Then they had sex! Ugh! I guess these authors can’t create a good story so they make sex as a main attraction. Because sex sales! I want to give no stars for the story.
