About this listen

Opposites don’t just attract—they ignite—in a flirty against-all-odds romance by Wall Street Journal bestselling author Lauren Landish.

Wyatt Ford hightailed it out of Cold Springs to get away from his influential family and the unwanted privilege that came with it. Returning for his brother’s wedding dredges up every reason he left. One unexpected bright spot: a curvy knockout who slings burgers, hustles pool…and hates the last name Ford.

Hazel Sullivan is fiercely independent and happy to be maid of honor for her best friend’s wedding, but she isn’t looking for romance. Especially not with a man whose family is dividing her town into a battleground with their development plans. Fighting the family is easy. Fighting Wyatt? Not so much. Why does the enemy have to be so drop-dead gorgeous?

The sparks that fly between Hazel and Wyatt might start out as combat, but one kiss and it’s total surrender. How is a happy ever after even possible for two people with so little in common? Except, of course, for an overwhelming attraction and that growing temptation to say “I do” themselves.

Critic reviews

“…romance author Lauren Landish's fun and funny novel [is brought] to life thorough the dual (and dueling) narrative skills of C.J. Bloom and Teddy Hamilton. … pure entertainment…immediate and enduringly popular.”Midwest Book Review

“Landish’s steamy novel begins as a standard wedding-fling romance but develops into an exploration of small-town life, the rising costs of real estate, and navigating family responsibility and personal ethics, all of which anchor a sexy love story featuring a bold heroine who loves a good innuendo and a decent hero who knows that the wrong bridesmaid is the right woman for him.”Library Journal

Couldn’t finish it

Just got tired of language and crudity. Seriously. A little more couth could have really improved this book.

Funny story

This was a great story about a boy named Jed. You will get that joke when you listen to or read the book. But the same town with a major conflict going on make for great moments of laughter.

This was an enjoyable audiobook!

The storyline was fun, characters were great , and the narration was perfect!

This was very hot in some parts! Make sure your audiobook doesn't connect to your car with your kids riding along!

Sweet Story

Sweet, funny, and with a nice touch of spice. Really enjoyed the side characters and the narrations.
As always, Teddy Hamilton is a pleasure to listen to.

Misguided Anger and Blame

The overall story is fine, but it is a little tough to get past the misguided anger and blame of the main character, The heroine. She has a very tough persona and exterior, which is a great base for the character, however, to not even have any anger or aggression towards the best friends husband, who is fully immersed in the drama, and on a new character, who has been MIA and not involved with the family for what sounds like more than five years is hard to grasp, let alone very frustrating. It makes it hard to stay committed to the book as a whole.

It’s the Right Bride Tho!

Wrong Bridesmaid? Right Bride!

I did both Audible and KU for “Wrong Bridesmaid.” Teddy Hamilton and CJ Bloom narrate the small-town romance. Dual POV MMC/FMC. The book was cute and surprisingly had some steamy moments between Wyatt (MMC) and Hazel (FMC). Hazel is a pretty strong FMC with sass. I loved how Wyatt only had eyes for Hazel and no one else. Lester, the parrot, stole the show, though with the phrases that he somehow learned. It is fiction, after all! Overall, solid read.

Okay book

It is average good book. Not bad but not extra interesting also. Connection of main characters felt superficial. Thankfully performance was very good.
