About this listen

Kate Svenson is attractive, successful, a brilliant businesswoman - and miserable. After three failed engagements, she realizes it's time for a PLAN...an organized, detailed agenda with a clear goal: finding Mr. Right.

The Cabins resort is ripe with eligible bachelors, all rich, distinguished and ambitious - just her type. And they're dropping like flies around her...at least, that's how Jake Templeton views the situation. After he's stuck pulling her latest reject out of the swimming pool, Jake's convinced this femme fatale is trouble. Especially for him.

But can a man who's sworn off ambition for good and a woman hanging from the top of the corporate ladder find common ground in the unpredictable territory called the heart, where the word proposal takes on a very different meaning?

Not my first ‘Manhunting’

This is not the first time I’ve ‘read’ Manhunting. Nor is it likely my second or maybe third. I adore Crusie’s zany characters and her stories seldom disappoint, Dogs and Goddesses was the first time I’d ever been disappointed. Part of that disappointment was with the reader, Renee Raudmen, but this book was much better. Some voices I did not care for, Penny and Jesse were super obnoxious, but every other voice was perfectly fine.

I've just become a new Jennifer Crusie fan!

After three attempts at a wedding with no successes, Kate makes a plan to find the perfect husband. She heads to Kentucky, to a resort that should be full of "Mr. Rights," but she keeps running into Mr. Wrong. Things just don't seem to go well for Kate and in particular, not well for her dates, much to Kate's chagrin.

This is such a delightful read, you won't be disappointed!

I think I'm just a Jennifer Crusie fan

it's a great solid rom com. The stakes are present but solvable, the characters are loveable, and it doesn't take itself super seriously. I'm gonna binge all of her books

A MUST BUY

I love all of Jennifer Crusie's books, but this one has to be my favorite. The way the characters interact with one another is so cute. I have listened to the book several times now. I thought the narrator was perfect. I cannot imagine reading the book and enjoying it as much as the audio version because of the narrator. A MUST BUY !!!

Typical Romance

If you like romance, you will appreciate this book. Good narratives. Doesn’t keep you guessing but cute story.

Great performance, fun story

Renee Raudman's sardonic, sometimes quirky style is a perfect match for Jennifer Crusie's quick-witted characters and fun, lighthearted plot. Raudman's pacing is perfect, and every character gets a voice of their own. One of Crusie's best, and Raudman's vies with Sandra Burr for best Crusie reader. On first listen it's a very funny, but straightforward romantic comedy, but every time I listen, I'm struck by yet another aspect of women, relationships, and careers. Classic Crusie.

Narration ruined it

I love the story. It's what you expect from a Jennifer Cruise story -- strong heroine, funny mishaps, normal bodies are treated well, etc -- and it's a fun romp.

The narration, on the other hand, is terrible. The men sound terrible. The best friend sounds like a prepubescent boy. The best voice is Valerie, one of the antagonists. The narrator should have given Kate that voice.

I think narrators of romance books need to audition. If they can't produce sexy voices for the men AND the women, then they shouldn't be hired to do the narration. The narrator of "Bet Me" would have been much better.
