Each new book in this series is...

the best one!!!! I had been hesitant to listen to this series because it's not generally the type of mystery I normally find myself drawn to. I've been following Wayne (Matthews, NC) for a few years and so far his reviews have never steered me wrong. He has written some wonderful reviews about this series and one about this book. I encourage any listener to read his reviews about these books and then get them.
Excellent series, fast paced and extremely entertaining
The narration of all books is done by Wendy Tremont King. She brings the character of Shelby Nichols to life.
This book and series have my
HIGHEST RECOMMENDATIONS!!

I loved it! Deserves 15 stars, maybe more!!

MARKED FOR MURDER is the 12th novel in the Shelby Nichols Adventures modern detective series by Colleen Helme. I've adored this series since listening to the first novel which is titled Carrots. To understand the series Carrots MUST be listened to first. I do not usually listen to or read novels that have a paranormal element, but this series which includes mind reading is a clear exception. Finding a similar series of novels is difficult. The closest is likely the Miss Fortune series by Jana DeLeon.

Most of the novels in this series are largely light and fun. MARKED FOR MURDER is a serious modern detective novel which contains some light and fun elements. As usual Wendy Tremont King does a great job of narration.

I recommend MARKED FOR MURDER and the other books in the Shelby Nichols Adventures series without reservation.

More Shelby

Same as the earlier books. Shelby is in trouble and then the day is saved. But a fun story, the whole series has been great so far.

Like coming Home to all my favorite Characters!

I loved listening to this book, great story, great characters, great narration. I listened to this book on vacation, on the plane, at the hotel, back on the plane. Listening to the familiar characters, is so smoothing and relaxing, great way to take the roller skates off. I recommended your series to a mother daughter we met at the Hotel in Ecuador who were from Australia.
Colleen - Keep writing and telling great stories. Wendy - keep narrating all of Colleen's books with the voices of Shelby, Ramos, Uncle Joey, which means, Colleen you CANNOT kill them off!

Excellent and gripping story

This story is an excellent mystery. Very gripping. You won't be able to stop listening. The story will definitely hold your interest. Shelby's ability is purposely tested by someone who is threatening her friends, family and coworkers with a game of cat and mouse. She is trying to stay two steps ahead of the person responsible but can she do it? There is lots of action. There is also some very interesting side stories. A woman needs help proving she is the mother of her child. DNA tests are not showing it. Dimples and Billie are getting married but will they have to call off the wedding? What is Chris's junior partner up to? It sounds like he is out to ruin Chris's law practice. The relationships of the main characters continue to develop. Hmmmm. Shelby has a desk and a computer finally at the police station. Just another day at the office.
Lots of laughable moments but lots of tension and suspense. The narrator is very good and able to change up voices well and build suspense.

Wow, this one moved fast.

This is one of my favorites of the series. I have enjoyed the entire series but at times it was a bit too slow but Ms. Helme remedied that!
Married to an attorney, two teen kids, a mob boss friend/boss, an incredibly handsome hired killer (he’s more that that but I digress), consultant to the police department, friends getting married in a few days, oh and Shelby can read minds. Her life is a bit busy.
This one has a “secret admirer” and chimerism?
It was a great listen and so much was going on, not enough to be confusing but you lose track of your time and before you know it, it ends...with something we’ve been waiting for.
A whole lot of fun!
The reader, though not my favorite, is great with this series.

I still have a moral issue

As usual, the story grabbed my attention immediately. Book 11 was great. It concentrated on Shelby and family and the mystery. But Book 12 picked up on the underline adulterous relationship between Shelby and Ramos, which is a fly in the cherry pie. Why can’t it just be a humorous mystery story and leave all the sexual undertones and innuendos out of a very good story?! Previously, I had decided not to get any more books in this series because of the “fly in the cherry pie “, but Book 11 was great and gave me hope, only to be let down by Book 12. I just enjoy humorous mysteries, and I don’t enjoy the smut messing up the story. It’s very distracting to the story and downgrades it where you have a bad taste in your mouth. You have a lot of fans for your story so you won’t miss one less. So sorry. The series would be so excellent without the smut.
