Many gems in this book, but struggles in areas

First, it is clear this author has been successful at growing a small church onto a large one. He knows what he is doing. This book is full of great gems of wisdom, but the narrator makes this a difficult listen and I found myself wondering more than once if I was listening to a computer program trying to sound like a real person.

The book often struggles with direction. For instance, much of it centers around things like casting vision and church leadership. These are valuable, but don't seem to relate to the main topic of "church marketing." I wonder if this was added because the author didn't have enough material about marketing to make the book long enough.

Some strange assumptions are made, such as the implication that if a pastor needs help with their broadcast that someone in the church will likely have a background in television production and can help. The audience of this book seems geared towards pastors of large churches.

Still, there are a lot of good pieces of wisdom in this book to make it worthwhile. It has made me think about our current marketing strategies and what we can do to implement some of the ideas.
