Publisher's summary

Welcome to Paradise Valley, where the locals thrive on the rural landscape, the quirky Oregonian living, and the history of the lesbian commune that founded it.

Mixing small town attitudes with lesbian dating? Sounds like another day in Paradise.

If anybody deserves a break, it’s Hesper Chess, the only registered CPA within 15 miles of Paradise Valley. Once tax season is over, she dreams of nothing but mai tais and sandy beaches. Too bad she knows a lot about personal finance, and can’t bring herself to spend the money!

But before she can rest on her laurels, she hears a cry from one of the town’s many business owners.

Florist Meadow Hobfield is being audited. She needs help. A lot of it.

These two townspeople who have never shared many conversations are now about to spend a lot of time together. So much so that Hesper will learn the truth behind Meadow’s love for flowers and Meadow will crack the code behind Hesper’s coarse personality.

This month will take a turn in ways they never imagined.

Love is in bloom

They may seem like an unusual couple but they fit together. Both seem to have trouble making friends. This story shows how Meadow and Hesper become friends and more. They make each other happy and that’s all that matters. I liked the narrator. I had to ignore the echo and background noise so it wouldn’t take away from the story.

Florist In Need of a CPA

Meadow Hobfield barely makes a living as the florist in Paradise and now she’s going to be audited by the IRS. So she tracks her CPA Hesper Chess to Heavens Cafe to ask for her help. Hesper takes the whole month of May as vacation so she welcomes the task. Now they are getting close and life is looking up. Great series and performance. Recommend.

Good story hurt by narration

This is another good story from the Year in Paradise series. The story was very enjoyable, but I found the narrator for this one to take away from the story. Her character voices don't match the same tone that the previous releases did. There are audio differences from chapter to chapter, which is a bit annoying. Chapters begin immediately after the last chapter ends with no second or so delay to ease into it. It would be a much better audiobook either with better editing or a different narrator.
