About this listen

Something has awakened....

In the remote stretches of Southern Florida, a string of deadly animal attacks begin to surface near the borders of a housing development project. When evidence at the latest scene suggests that a massive predator may be the source of the carnage, a local crocodilian specialist is brought in as a consultant. Soon, an effort is launched by the police and the coast guard to successfully locate and capture the ancient creature, which threatens the lives of everyone in the expedition, as well as the surrounding communities.

Enjoyable despite some small issues

Yes, it is a tropey story but it is enjoyable. Fun idea, pretty much a summer action flick in book form. The narrator was good, not great, occassionaly stilted. really quiet sometimes then very loud when a character was speaking. Also, its foliage, not "foilage" and Cretaceous, not "crustaceous". The narrator has a great voice, just needs to work on a few things. I finished the book and did not want to return it for what that is worth. Fun time.

can't say Cretaceous??

sadly there aren't very many killer alligator or crocodile novels out there from what I can find. this one was entertaining. it's not as good as other books like the Meg but it was good enough to enjoy. the guy who did the audio book wasn't awful but it drove me crazy that he kept saying crestaceous instead of Cretaceous. bugged the hell out of me haha.

Audio volume issues

Narrator is much louder when doing the voices vs the purpose of the story and it can blow out your eardrums.

Wow! Julian Michael carver has overdone it!! What a thrilling, suspenseful read. If you’re into creature features this is a must read for you!! He also has has a book called Triassic which I am going to read as well! The narrator is amazing as well!! Great voice!

Well...

The premise of the story isn't bad. That being said, this is the worst narrator I have ever heard. The terminology was way off. Seems to me that if you are going to write a book rooted in the real world, you would want to do a little bit of research into such things, example; calling Coast Guard "Soilders" as opposed to "Guardsmen". I know that is small, but when you make those kinds of mistakes over and over, it adds up and takes away from the story. Couple this with poorly written characters and, as I stated earlier, the worst, most boring narrator ever, you make what could have been a great idea and book and flush it down the toilet. I would not recommend this book at all.

Its CRETACIOUS, not "CRUSTACIOUS"!!!

The story was okay, charachters were weirdly unintelligent. Narrator can't prenounce for s***. It completely messes up immersion.

The absolute worst book I've listened to

Everything about this book is awful. The performance is just badly done. The story is terrible.

The Narrator is boring, I couldn’t finish this book

I could not finish this book because the narrator was extremely boring and dull. If I could get my credit back , I would.
