Publisher's summary

Meet the Damage Control boys - set in the world of the best-selling series Inked Brotherhood.

There's me: Micah Owens. Tattoo artist at Damage Control. No parents or siblings. A past that still gives me nightmares.

And then there's her: Evangeline, the girl who saved my life and haunts my more pleasant dreams. Only she doesn't know who I really am, and telling her might well send her fleeing for the hills. She deserves better than a loser like me. She's pretty. She's clever. She's goddamn sexy and has a heart of gold.

Which is why I can't tell her. A smile from her and I'll do all I can to make her mine - including pretending to be someone I'm not, someone worth having.

Isn't love weird?

Note: This is a stand-alone novel. No cliff-hanger.

Warning: This audiobook contains graphic language, sex, and violence. Mature listeners only. Not intended for young listeners.

Sweet spin off

This is a pretty sweet spin off and we get to know the damaged boys a little better, I feel like things were resolved a little to nice and neatly with the ex but other wise it was a good story with good narrators.

Good start to the extended series!

I enjoy this one more than the last one in the sense that I love the girl a lot! The boy had his issues and she was so patient even with her own stress and worries. The narrators were great and I am looking forward to another book by this author. Also this was nice too because you hear about these guys in the other books and now you can know their story.. I love when there is a book for all the buddies.

confused

it was a good story and you learned a lot about the 2 main characters, but you didn't really meet any of the other people. in the first series you got to meet more of the people in each story. it didn't just focus on one couple. so I was a little confused about some of the story line. but once I check things closer I realized this was the beginning of the second series. i only gave it 4 stars because I felt she could of had more interaction with other characters.

Unimpressed with Male Narrator

The book was good; enjoyed the storyline, but had a hard time listening to the male narrator. I've never been impressed with Tad's voice, I'm not sure what it is, but listening to him grinds on me. With that said, I'm looking forward to book #2, Jesse.

good story but predictable

Micah was an interesting character. his background story was dark but understandable given his parent situation. Ev was different. she was strong to help others but weak towards her family. I'm not sure if I liked that or not. the storyline was believable to an extent. u don't make the decision to move out from ur parents without already having another place to live lined up. that's unrealistic.

A match that worked

Micah and Evangeline are an unlikely match, and that dynamic intrigued me when I checked out this book. I wanted to see where the author would take this pairing, and how they would get there. Presenting Micah with his past and the similar past of his friends around him, plays out in my mind even after finishing the book. I love the direction this author took it. I look forward to exploring the others in the series to see how their stories come together.

I enjoyed the audiobook version, but must say, the use of the word f*** continually by Micah was something that made me cringe. I don’t think I would have noticed it as much had I been reading it myself, but the vocalization so often became almost annoying, like there wasn’t any other word he used as expression. Just my opinion.

🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 Sooooooo goooood.

I think Tad's narration has a lot to do with making listening to this so enjoyable. He is becoming a fast fave for his performances. Also, this story is hot, sweet, touching, and gets me in the feels. 🥰 It also touches on the lasting psychological effects of being in the foster system and homelessness; the unconscious drive to feel loved and accepted for some.

Unexpected Hopeful

Micah & Ev are amazing characters, smoothly written, good audio. Everybody has their dragons to slay, and what a ride it is. Can’t wait for the rest of the series. Family isn’t always blood, sometimes being friends just isn’t giving the people close to your soul enough credit. While this is a standalone, so looking forward to hearing more about them in future books. HEA. No cliffhanger but plenty left to tell.

Too much sex

This was a story and I think it will be a good series but way too much sex…

Great story, love Erin Mallon

I really enjoyed listening to this book. I have listened to a ton of audiobooks and do not usually write a review. I only wanted to say that I can relate to the damage and difficulty these people have in their lives and it is nice to be able to read a romance and true love story that started off with some really shitty lives and tough breaks. It was a breath of fresh air and great to see a hea with a crappy start. I love Jo Raven’s writing and Erin Mallon’s male voice is amazing.
