About this listen

Building a small town from scratch? Piece of cake. Bossing my big, messy family? Done. Keeping my hands off the hot CFO? Not so easy….

I’ve brokered billion-dollar deals as the man in charge.

I can handle a challenge.

But Vanessa’s not just any challenge.

The whip-smart finance magician has me tripping over my tongue—and other parts—when we team up to launch my family’s reality TV show.

Between a sexy waterslide romp, adopting a dog, and a hike that lands her bra in a tree, we’re dangerously close to mixing business and pleasure.

This can’t end well.

If my meddling brothers and sisters get their way,

I’ll be one of the suckers falling in love under the spotlight.

No way. I’ve been burned before.

I can’t risk it all with a show to run, a town depending on me, and a growing sense someone’s set on sabotaging it all.

It’s my job to save the business and protect my family.

That means keeping my stupid heart out of the boardroom.

For once in my life, I’m not sure I have it all under control.

Buy this hilarious forbidden workplace rom-com about a billionaire trying to create a utopia on reality TV, and the woman who makes him question everything along the way.

Great story line. Great narration

Loved the narrator! Great story! Not like the usual story line- so much in it. Looking forward to the entire series.

A little to de ja vu for me but great story none the less details to follow👇🏼

This was a enjoyable listen for me. But I am trying to figure out why after the first few chapters I felt like I had heard it before which honestly I knew exactly what happens as I listened all the way through. That being said as I listened I started researching the books details and the paper/digital book came out in 2020 and audio says 7/21. So of course I went to my Kindle library and searched to see if maybe I had purchased/borrowed it when the first was released. But nope it was not in my history anywhere.
Now this is no big deal really, accept its bugging me to no end because I even knew little details coming up in story and I say it like that as to not spoil it for everyone that hasn’t heard/read it. Anyways, my point I trying to get to…😂….HELP! Can anyone else tell me if they had the same experience?…like maybe this was previously recorded under a different title???…
Signed…having a dejavu that is way to detailed to be an actual dejavu…😂

Pretty great!

Cute, fun, some suspense and a little bit of sexy time made this a nice listen. Plus you can’t go wrong with these two narrators! The whole storyline is original to me so it was a fun listen. The writing was really good, and the dialogue/scenes were completely believable. Just an all around great listen!

♥️ WHAT A GREAT LISTEN ♥️

This is my first Tawna Fenske book but it won’t be my last.. in fact I’ve already downloaded Book 2 because I’m totally invested in these loveable six siblings who have bought a disbanded cult’s compound to fix up and film a community based reality show there and, after this five star listen, I can’t wait.

Right from their interview, there’s attraction and sizzling chemistry between CFO Dean and his prospective CFO Vanessa and, the more they interact, the more they draw closer and connect. However, these two ‘relationship jaded’ characters think they can resist their intense pull (err that’s a no but nice try guys). Then the delusional couple think that after their ‘once’ they’d be done (huh, we’ll I could’ve told them how that would work.. not). And then they ??.. well, you’ll just have to get this enjoyable and very entertaining listen for yourselves and I guarantee you’ll be in for a treat.. especially the dual POV narration by Sebastian and Emma who were excellent as always and gave it their awesome all. As well as the growing romance and sweet interactions, family dynamics and humor, there’s suspicion and mystery as to who and why someone is slowly trying to jeopardize everything.

Worth a credit? Definitely.. and now Jason’s calling me for Book 2 🤭😘🤫😉🥰.

Finally an author that knows how to craft dramatic action.

It’s a good thing. Today is Sunday because I had to listen to this book nonstop all day until it was done. It was that good. It should have all five stars from everyone because it’s way superior to other books that have a higher rating.

The author knows how to take ordinary characters and make them extraordinary. They’re clever, funny, attractive, and interesting. Not like those romantic boring characters that are the smartest wealthiest most powerful yada yada yada. Well crafted character should be multifaceted with faults and weaknesses which these have, and which makes them all the more appealing.

Dramatic action consists of a series of events that increase in intensity until the climax occurs and the conflict is resolved. Finally a romance writer who knows how to do this! She introduces the two main conflicts early and keeps you on the edge of your seat until the end, but still gives you hints in case you’re the type who likes to guess for yourself. She’s not like most of the romance writers I’ve read lately who wait until the book is three -fourths done to introduce the major conflict or make the bad guy someone you didn’t even meet until the end of the book. I hate that.

The ending was sweet, but not so saccharin sweet that you felt like you just t ate a whole chocolate cake you are about to throw up. It was just perfect and the romance scenes were touching and arousing but they didn’t go overboard. Sometimes I think romance writers go on and on about bodily fluids just because they can’t come up with any better plot. But not this one. I cannot wait to continue to read the rest of the series.
