About this listen

Lucas Blackthorne ruined me. Because of him I lost my pack. My heart. My soul.

He was the bastard prince of the Blackthorne vampires, and I fell for his charms. It’s a mistake I won’t make again. He’s wicked and dangerous, but I have plans for revenge.

Lucas might be estranged from the royal family, but that doesn’t mean he’s not useful. I’ll turn him against his brother and bring down the vampires once and for all. Just like he tried to do with me, once upon a time.

He stole my heart once before. He can’t take it again. But it'll be fun to let him try.

Sexy, romantic, exciting audiobook excellence!

This review is for the audiobook. I have been eagerly awaiting Midnight Hunger since finishing Midnight Prince this summer. I was hooked and listened straight through! Their undeniable connection transcends all of the obstacles thrown at them. As Briar finds her strength and becomes a fierce defender of others, Lucas realizes how wrong he was about her death and that he can't lose her again. This story is romantic, exciting, sexy, and surprising. There were several times when I thought I knew what would happen, and I was wrong. When they come together again it is electric with excellent dialogue right down to the snarky responses and the sexy banter! I have listened three times now.

This story has plenty of snark, steamy scenes, and dialogue that can bring you to your knees (especially the audiobook) with lines like "Don't deny me your eyes after so long without them." spoken by the one and only Shane East. Aaron Shedlock reprises his role as Cashel from the Blackthorne Vampires series and brings a lot to the story with Cashel's return! Stella Hunter delivers another excellent performance and has become a 1-click narrator for me. They all bring their A game to deliver excellent duet performances! Duet done right is my jam!! I definitely recommend this audiobook!

I received an ALC of this audiobook in exchange for my honest review, and enjoyed every moment!

Epic Conclusion to a forbidden love!

I was lucky to win an ALC for this audiobook and K. Loraine didn't disappoint. I have to be honest, I was not into Vampire, Shifters, witches' kind of stories, but after reading Midnight Prince, I found a new favorite genre. This book has so many great things, that I don't know where to start:
1. The Plot:
Book 1 left us with the surprising news that Briar was alive. My heart ached with Lucas trying to find Briar and win her love back. The story had me on edge with so many twists and turns that I couldn't put the book (audio) down. I was rooting for Lucas and Briar and craving each scene where they were together.
2. The Narrators:
K. Loraine couldn't pick up better narrators. SHANE EAST.... (insert daydreaming emoji here) portrayed Lucas to perfection. The raw pain, the feelings. God!!!! I don't care that he is half a vampire, I fell in love with him too. Stella Hunter did a stellar (pun intended) job as Briar. The strong shifter/woman, the alpha female, the hunter, the woman torn by an alleged betrayal. She is Briar. Having Aaron Shedlock was certainly a great addition to the narration. His raspy voice was the perfect complement to Shane and Stella's narrations.
3. The Duet Narration Format:
I love stories written with both main characters' POV, K. Loraine picked up the perfect format for this audiobook. I LOVE LOVE Duet Narration. It is like listening to the back and forth between the characters, but watching the story happening vividly in my head. Duet Narration is the bomb.
Whether you like Vampire stories or not, you need to start this series for so many reasons. However, I have a warning, this series is addicting. I am now like a blood-thirsty reader looking for more stories from the Blackthorne family. ;)

Loved this storyline

Wow. Just wow. This audiobook was amazing. I love duel narration. Stella Hunter and Shane East are an amazing duo. Shane East is one of my favourite male narrators, hello British accent. Stella Hunter is a new narrator to me but I love her voice. Aaron Shedlock is wonderful as well. Well chosen narrators for this story.

I haven’t been much into paranormal books since Twilight and True Blood. Man, I have been missing out.

Lucas Blackthorne is a half blood vampire/human prince. Briar is a shifter werewolf. These two a star-crossed lovers. A vampire and a wolf should not, cannot be together.

This book was a rollercoaster of emotions. I’m a fan of hate sex scenes and this story did not disappoint. It is the second book in duet so you must read/listen to “Midnight Prince”. There are three other books in this Blackthorne universe but you can listen to this book without major spoilers.

We do get a HEA for our couple and a teaser for an upcoming book, not a cliffhanger though. I can’t wait to read it.

loved it!!

I absolutely loved the duet narration. It brings the book to life in a far better way. loved how they brought cash in. Loved his voice in his books. The story was great. The storyline keeps going from book to book. Loved the cliffhanger into the next book while completing Lucas's story. Overall I had hoped for more hope for them and the mark situation. I had looked forward to Lucas finding his mate after his kind joking heart was revealed in the first book. I wasn't disappointed.

Hot vampire yes please.

I have loved Lucas from the beginning... because what girl doesn't have an unhealthy attraction to the bad boy.

But seriously this book was terrific from beginning to end these narrators made this book a perfect listen.

Quite a twist to the end of the story. Narrators did a good job with characters; especially Shane. On to the next book!

This is the second installment in the Blackthorne Bloodlines, a vampire romance. This Series is set in the Blackthorne Vampires world. The story continues where the first installment left off. Lucas and Briar's story is beautifully written, suspenseful, action packed, intriguing and sexy. The characters are fantastic, and well developed. The world building is intriguing and captivating. Shane East and Stella Hunter did an outstanding job with the narration. If you like paranormal romance, this Series is for you. I highly recommend this series!

Great conclusion to Lucas and Briar's story

Wow, Kim Loriane delivered in this conclusion to Lucas and Briar's duet!

I'm not generally a paranormal romance fan, but if Kim Loraine writes it, I'm reading it AND listening to it. Her books are definitely worth the double investment of both my money and my time. Her writing is simply top notch in terms of character and plot development, and her storylines are creative, dramatic and lure you in and keep you enthralled from beginning to end.

Lucas and Briar have spent a century apart, and they are finally reunited, despite Briar's desire to keep Lucas at a distance. But simply being reunited does not mean that all is smooth sailing into their supernatural happily-ever-after. There are still warring factions to contend with in the paranormal world that we mere mortals cannot even imagine. Luckily Kim Loraine can imagine it, put it down on paper, and deliver it us to consume!

The amazing writing lends itself perfectly to the narration styles of Stella Hunter and Shane East, with a guest appearance by Aaron Shedlock reprising his role as Cashel from the original Blood Trilogy. The drama, the emotion, the nuanced vulnerability, the craving, the clashing - this stellar cast captures it all. The work beautifully to bring the words to life. It would be easy given the material to overact, but these consummate professionals bring just the right level of drama and sharpness when called for, and it makes this an absolute aural delight.

Great listen

I was very excited to listen to book #2 of the Blackthorne Bloodlines series book.
We pick up as the book 1 left off.

Lucas and Briar's story is very compelling. Shane East and Stella Hunters narration brought these characters to life in my ears.

Their story is full of so much, mystery, intrigue, betrayal, love, steam, bonds, vampires, hybrids, shifters. It's a great world that author K. Loraine has built and her characters will all suck you in and make you love them.

Also a big shout out to Aaron Shedlock who voice Cashel and added extra depth to this already great story
