About this listen

Gwynn Austin has no idea why her father has disappeared on a mysterious trip to Scotland. When she goes on a desperate mission to search for him, she finds more than she bargains for in a ruggedly handsome, wickedly exciting Highlander who exudes danger and mystery. And when she discovers her own link to Scotland, she'll have to trust her heart to help lead her.

Propelled through time by powerful Druid Magic, Logan Hamilton uses his immortality and powers of the god inside him to help prevent the awakening of an ancient evil in the modern world. He never expects to find help in the form of a beautiful, alluring, and all-too-tempting woman whose passion and strength matches his own. Together, Logan and Gwynn must fight for their love - before a demon from the past destroys them both.

This book wasn’t horrible but it was predictable and kinda Cheesy. The only way I can explain what this book reminds me of, is it is fairy tale like. I gave up on the original series, for this reason. I guess this type of book just isn’t my cup of tea.

Ok - so It took a little getting used to having a female voice read the next book in the series after so many were read by Antony Ferguson (yum)... I thought “ok ... I can roll with this!” BUT Then came all the weird name pronouncing. It seems to me that if you’re going to read someone’s book, you should at least listen to how the names were pronounced in the past...

Names pronounced differently

I love where the story is going! Really love it! Love the fact that the loveable characters are mostly there and have not just vanished, so i hope it continues on like this.

*-* did not like, actually hated that someone dies!! And i'll just leave it at that!!

Seriously....tha narrator is ok, but for me Anthony was better. Really disappointed that its not him anymore! Please bring him back! lol

Well...*spoil alert* partial anyways

I have read all of the Dragon King's and Reaper books. I decided to go back and read the previous books. I am glad that I did. The Kings have some things that intertwine with the warriors so I already knew of a few of them.
This is Logan and Gwen's book. Gwen is searching for her father who disappeared somewhere in Scotland. Logan has time traveled forward four hundred years. He is searching for Ian and a way to killed Deirdre. Deirdre and Duncan are both working with black magic and for satan.
Logan and Gwen's must work together to find an artifact that can be used to awaken Deirdre's sister. It has been said that her sister knows how and can kill her.
Love reading about how things happened in order to get their happy ever after.
Liked the accents and speech performed by the narrator.

Thoughts are described over and over. The story became repetative and boring. The premise was enticing and I was disappointed.

Juvenile and repetative.

I really enjoy this series! It was a little confusing where to begin this portion at first though.

love this series!

Another good series. I just could not listen to the Dark Swords series.. Anthony Ferguson is just horrible as a narrator. However, this series follows right after Dark Swords. I read all the dark swords but just could not listen.

So we have Logan, an immortal warrior on the search for Ian another immortal warrior. Logan, Ian and 3 more warriors got transported to the future from the Dark Swords series. They are trying to kill the evil Druid. Confusing, yes, but it all makes sense as the story goes on. Logan meets Gwyn who is looking for her Dad in Scotland. Gwyn is a Druid and her and Logan fall in love. The Warriors always mate with a Druid throughout all the books, Dark sword and Dark Warriors.

Logan and Gwyn story is really good. I like that Gwyn did not trust Logan right away as all heroines usually do.

Good buy/credit.

Narrations was awesome. Potter is on the of Xe Sands narration.

Great!

Nice listen but it was a little long. It wasn't holding my interest enough for me to want to find out more and move onto the next Chapter. I liked the Characters... the beginning of the Story was rushed for Gwen and Logan's beginning. There some Heat happening with the MMC and MFC 🔥

Firstly, although this is the start of a new series it does follow on from DG's Dark Sword Series and I felt, not having read this series, if I had of read these previous books then it would have made more sense and this book an even more enjoyable listen as there were a few names, words or references that you are expected to know about but don't so it lost a point for this I'm afraid.

Having said all that I thought this was a great start to an exciting new series - Gwynn goes on a quest to find her missing father in Scotland only to find Logan, a kilt wearing Highland Warrior from the 1600's, instead. Logan agrees to help Gwynn and their two quests become one.

Looking forward to listening to Midnight Lover which is book 2 and I hope Audible puts the Dark Sword series into their Library too.

Worth a credit? Great characters, a nice sexy romance and, of course, your hunky Highlander - what's not to like - so it's a YES from me.

WELL, HELLO BOYS! TO A NEW HIGHLAND WARRIOR SERIES

The story is good but it could be great if not for the lack-luster, irritating narration. There are so many great narrators out there that I sometimes wonder why "just-ok" ones are used. This narrator ends so many sentences in unneccessary exclamation points that it becomes irritating. I find myself not listening and having to rewind and repeat sections. It takes this potentially great book and just makes it ok. I'm disappointed because I bought it based on a stellar review. My 2-cents is go in with low expectations on the narrator and maybe you'll end up liking the reading. I went in with way too high of expectations and am really disappointed. Maybe you'll like this. Maybe you'll feel like me and be like - meh. For me I would prefer to read this rather than listen to this narrator.
