About this listen

Clay Bennett is a powerful DarkRiver sentinel, but he grew up in the slums with his human mother, never knowing his changeling father. As a young boy without the bonds of Pack, he tried to stifle his animal nature. He failed... and committed the most extreme act of violence, killing a man and losing his best friend, Talin, in the bloody aftermath. Everything good in him died the day he was told that she, too, was dead.

Talin McKade barely survived a childhood drenched in bloodshed and terror. Now a new nightmare is stalking her life - the street children she works to protect are disappearing and turning up dead. Determined to keep them safe, she unlocks the darkest secret in her heart and returns to ask the help of the strongest man she knows....

Clay lost Talin once. He will not let her go again, his hunger to possess her, a clawing need born of the leopard within. As they race to save the innocent, Clay and Talin must face the violent truths of their past... or lose everything that ever mattered.

I like this one because both characters have emotion. Was getting tired of endless ranting about one of the two having no emotion that got dry. This one is nice :)

I don't really like the unbelievably fast Insta-romance but, I also don't like when it takes all but the last couple of chapters for the couple to come together. I just wish that we could experience more of the goodness of their relationship. Other than that, this is definitely a unique paranormal world and the author should be aknowledged for her creativity.

I wish the relationships developed a little faster

What a great twist! Shocked it what comes to mind, somehow I never thought a human would come to play in these books but I am so very glad it did.

Talin is a strong-willed person and her struggle with what is happening not only to her but to the kids in her charge is what made me love her character. She is willing to do anything to get them back.

Clay is kind of dangerous but when he is around Talin no matter how mad he is at her from their past he is still a big softy when it comes to her and all he wants to do is make her safe/better. I loved this about him so very much.

I again am loving the narration now that I know what to expect.

Ok, this has become my new favorite in the series so far. Clay and Talin had me from the very beginning and I couldn’t put this down.

At first they are both kind of cruel to each other. Clay lashing out because of how she hurt him, and Talin because of the trauma she suffered as a child. She comes off pretty weak in the beginning, but the more time she spends with Clay, the stronger she gets.

Despite his anger with her, Clay was very protective and possessive. I wanted to shake Talin for not getting past her fear and insecurities sooner. You could just tell Clay would be good to her because of how much he loved her, and he does prove that.

This will be the couple to beat in the upcoming books.

My favorite so far!

This book wasn't one of my favorite of the series but I think it was interesting to have part of the psychic mind's issues addressed through Tally. The slow deterioration of mind without the biofeedback was good to see.

Not bad

This is another good book in this wonderful series. I am really enjoying how each book adds many new and complex characters to the whole series.

Still another good book within this series.
