Publisher's summary

It will take a Christmas miracle for two very different souls to find each other in this perfectly festive fairy tale of New York!

Hopeless romantic Eva Jordan loves everything about Christmas. She might be spending the holidays alone this year, but when she's given an opportunity to house-sit a spectacular penthouse on Fifth Avenue, she leaps at the chance. What better place to celebrate than in snow-kissed Manhattan? What she didn't expect was to find the penthouse still occupied by its gorgeous - and mysterious - owner.

Best-selling crime writer Lucas Blade is having the nightmare before Christmas. With a deadline and the anniversary of his wife's death looming, he's isolated himself in his penthouse with only his grief for company. He wants no interruptions, no decorations, and he certainly doesn't appreciate being distracted by his beautiful, bubbly new housekeeper. But when the blizzard of the century leaves Eva snowbound in his apartment, Lucas starts to open up to the magic she brings. This Christmas, is Lucas finally ready to trust that happily ever afters do exist?

Cute story

It's a cute little romance. I liked the narrator's characterization of Eva but didn't care for her depictions of the others-they all had the same deep monotone.

Great Holiday Romance

The story was great. I wasn't thrilled about he reader when she did the female voice. I can't quite put my finger on it. It was maybe just too squeaky.

Sweet story

Peaceful love story. Only thing I didn’t like were the voices especially the male lead. Eva sounded a bit like Marilyn Monroe knock off. But truly a beautiful sweet story. Worth the credit.

For Romantics

If you’re into sugary sweet dialog and happy endings, you will love this story. If you’re not a believer in the “everyday girl marries her Prince & they live happily ever after” motif, better check your attitude before reading. This reader, experienced in real life (not fairy tales), found the book to be sappy and the female protagonist a cliche from another world. I know, I know. That’s the kind of book it’s supposed to be. I should not have talked myself into reading it. So, enjoy it if that’s your kind of book. You won’t be disappointed in the happy ending.

Performance okay

The story was sweet, I liked the voices the narrator portrayed except the one for the main character. She sounded like a fake Marilyn Monroe, which was not only annoying but irritating.

Her voice was annoying

Call cute story very hallmark Christmas movie-ish. I would’ve really love this more if it wasn’t for the narrators Marilyn Monroe esque voice. It was way over the top.

Good story, not my favorite reading

I ended up reading the story instead of listening. I couldn’t get past the reading of this book.

Too sweet

Go ahead and call me a curmudgeon. This is the 3rd or 4th Christmas audiobook I've SO NOT ENJOYED this year. Is there a rule that says Christmas heroines have to be sappy sweet and starry-eyed and unbearably perfect?

Remember the babyfied sexy voice Melanie Griffith used in Working Girl and it worked because she was adorable and a real actress? I think that's what narrator Jennifer Woodward was going for but it came out more naughty muppet baby. I almost made it to the finish line but not quite. I just couldn't take another smug lecture from special snowflake Eva. I'm guessing there was an HEA.

Awful Narration

The narrator used a voice for the main character that sounded like a flaky bimbo. It was so irritating I had to quit listening, which I've never done before. Since I stopped listening, I can't rate the overall story.
