About this listen

Misery Chastain was dead. Paul Sheldon had just killed her - with relief, with joy. Misery had made him rich; she was the heroine of a string of best sellers. And now he wanted to get on to some real writing.

That's when the car accident happened, and he woke up in pain in a strange bed. But it wasn't the hospital.

Annie Wilkes had pulled him from the wreck, brought him to her remote mountain home, splinted and set his mangled legs. The good news was that Annie was a nurse and had painkilling drugs. The bad news was that she was Paul's Number One Fan. And when she found out what Paul had done to Misery, she didn't like it. She didn't like it at all. And now he had to bring Misery back to life. The narrator does an absolutely terrific job at portraying Annie Wilkes, she made the book so enjoyable.

Excellent narrator

I thought I would read this before watching the movie because I like to know what to expect. Now I don’t think I’ll be able to watch the movie coz this really grossed me out and scared me.

So gross, sometimes I wanted to puke.

I read this book when it came out as a younger person and saw the movie. I had forgotten the details and was yet again, taken away in a tale of extreme suspense and horror. You got me again, Mr. King!

Mind Blowing

Very good, I did enjoy the narrator, think she was very good actually, performance was very Kathy Bates like I thought and very good. The only annoyance really is the chime / tune to indicate a change in the action, I think people are intelligent enough not to require an indication such as that, overall not something to put one off completely, but the producers of these books can really consider getting rid of it.

Very good
