About this listen

Two mechanics. One rivalry. She'll prove she's as good as she says she is. He'll prove her place isn't under the hood. It's over it.

"Don't let the bastards get you down."

For 26 years, I lived by my daddy's motto. Which is why "Mechanic Wanted" is all it takes for me to apply for the job at the garage we once owned. And I meet the biggest bastard of them all: Dexter Ryne. Hotter than hell in July and a firm believer that my place is on reception, taking phone calls, and looking pretty. Not getting dirty under the hood of a car.

Determined to prove each other wrong, we make a deal. I have three weeks to prove my worth as a mechanic. If I don't, I'm on telephone duty. If I do, he'll accept defeat and make my job permanent. Now, all I have to do is fight my attraction to the cocky little...beep. Problem is, an engine isn't the only thing he knows how to make purr....

Contains mature themes.

Swoon worthy!

I loved this story! The push and pull with Dexter and Jamie was hilarious, I love it when the H/h are at war yet so annoyingly attracted to one another it makes for a super fun read! Jamie did not back down when it came to Dexter and I loved it! She is everything women stand for and super hot to boot! I liked how Dexter had his womanizing views and after breaking his stubborn walls down he was not afraid to admit he was wrong. Great read and love the narration!

Miss Mechanic

This one was just pure fun. Enemies to lovers and this one was filled with lots of snark and over the hood action. Jamie needs a job and it just so happens the ad she answers is for a job at her Dad's old garage. The only problem is when she shows up for the interview the owner, Dexter, takes one look at her and decides because she is a woman she cannot do the job. Mistake number one. She bets him she can do everything he requires over the next month or he can fire her and they are off and running. Definitely not to miss this one. It is a quick read or listen!

You absolutely have to read this book!!

This book was one of the most hilarious that I have read in awhile. Its about a beautiful, snarky female mechanic and a gorgeous, but infuriating man. He needs a mechanic and she needs a job, but he can't see past the fact that Jamie is a girl. So they make a deal. He has to give her three weeks to prove she is good enough and he will hire her. They but heads from the get go and can never have a civil conversation. However, opposites attract right? There is steam and lots of humor in this book. You will positively love this book. The narrators did a wonderful job too.

Cute but Frustrating

Cute story. Loved the banter. Great chemistry. At times the premise was hard to swallow, but for the purposes of an escape, this book accomplishes the job.

I really enjoyed Alexander Cendese's voice for the male characters, but his narration of the female characters really grated my nerves.

Disappointed

Disappointed in this book
Male narrator reminded more of a DJ doing a top 40 count down. I just couldn't get into the character's because of his odd Muppet voices. ugh.

IT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER....

I dont like writing negative reviews but this book had me frustrated, Great Idea for a story which is the best part, here is the down side.... Jamie is a woman Mechanic, who is so unprofessional and often whiny. I could see why she had a hard time getting a job anywhere doing what she loved. She gives Female Mechanics a bad rep. The bickering between Dax and Jamie was supposed to be funny but it was actually really annoying. They spent so much time arguing over non-since the characters didn't use any Mechanic lingo or hardly work on cars. Narration contributed to the annoyance

Hilarious

This book was so full of hilarious one liners. Each character had their own cooky personality that the narrators brought to life so vividly.

Wrenching this one

I have a soft spot for Mechanic's and will pick up anything with one in it. The narration needed a lot of work. I don't mind banter, but this was crossing a line. The funny banter and fighting was over the top and childish. They behaved like teens. Lets not get me started on the mechanics working under cars with shorts. Not to say I haven't but it's very uncomfortable and really hard on the knees. Even if it's so flipping hot outside, I'd rather be wearing jeans then getting down on the ground on my bare knees. When I go to a JOB interview I'm Going to dress for the JOB. If said job is for working on cars I'm wearing clothes and SHOES that are comfortable and easy to move around in with out worrying about dirty, grease and rips, not like I'm going clubbing.
