Publisher's summary

Even for Private Investigations, the world's top detective agency, it's tough to find a man who doesn't exist....

Craig Gisto has promised Eliza Moss that his elite team at Private Sydney will investigate the disappearance of her father. After all, as CEO of a high-profile research company, Eric Moss shouldn't be difficult to find.

Except it's not just the man who's gone missing. Despite the most advanced technology at their disposal, they find every trace of him has vanished, too.

And they aren't the only ones on the hunt. Powerful figures want Moss to stay "lost" while others just as ruthlessly want him found.

Meanwhile, a routine background check becomes a frantic race to find a stolen baby and catch a brutal killer - a killer Private may well have sent straight to the victim's door....

good story

The narrator made it hard to distinguish voices at times, but great Private story otherwise.

Not Patterson's best

Okay, but while the story idea was good, pace was slow. But I remain a Patterson fan.

excellent story except for a rather abrupt and somewhat weak wrap up that left a feeling of incompleteness.

About Average

This was one of those "not good, not bad" audiobooks. The ending was anti-climatic and somewhat confusing. Ready to move on to the next PRIVATE book in the series.

Great Story!

I finished Missing in one day. It was well read. It had a good pace. I liked the narrator.

Not Bad, But Story Gets Convoluted

There's a lot to like about this story. I enjoyed the characters, there's a lot of action, and it's a short enough story that it didn't wear out it's welcome. I also didn't mind the reader at all (not sure why others did). All the characters are Australian, so his accent was appropriate and didn't annoy me. Is he the best reader I've listened to? No, not by a long shot, but I thought he was fine.

I think the author "tried a little too hard" in some respects, to create some twists and turns and keep the readers/listeners guessing. By the end of the "A" story (there is a "B" story also), I have to admit that I was a bit lost, and not sure that the ending actually made much sense. Less would have been better in this case, but overall it was a pretty enjoyable ride.

Not the best Private

Would you listen to Missing again? Why?

I listen to every Private book written. This one was by far my least favorite. I found the story hard to follow, and the narration not as good as the other Private books.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Not really

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Not sure, just didn't really like this narrator.
