He’s falling for his brother’s ex - as if he needs another reason to go.

Nate Wilde is ready to leave Birch Bay. He’s been home too long as it is and extending his visit means risking fantasies of staying for good. Wants and desires never work out for him, though. With good comes bad, and he’s had enough bad to last a lifetime. Unfortunately, his siblings need him. The family orchard is on the brink of collapse, and they’re relying on him to help. Only...what can he possibly do to save an orchard that’s lost most of its trees?

Megan Manning, ex-girlfriend to Nate’s youngest brother and manager of the Wilde family’s cherry-themed gift store, intends to settle permanently in her newly adopted town. Her own family has always cared more about traveling the world than creating a place to call home, so she’s going to make that for herself. Her list for happiness is simple. A rewarding job, good friends, and finding someone to love. She doesn’t want the kind of love she grew up with, however. She wants someone willing to stick.

As Nate works to save the orchard, Megan pitches in to help. After all, no cherry farm equals no need for a cherry-themed gift store. But when constant contact has their chemistry spiking, Megan discovers there’s more than the family business worth fighting for. Only, will Nate be able to handle falling for his brother’s ex? Or will he walk...exactly as her family always has?

Incredible story and narration!

I have totally adored this entire set of books. The Wilde "children" are all grown up, but boy do they have issues from living with a screwed up mother. This book is about Nate. Nate has always made it a point to stay away from home, but has to return and stick around after his father has a devastating accident and a freak cold spell just about wiped out the entire family cherry orchard.
Nate's younger brother's ex-girlfriend is working in the family store. Megan is attracted to Nate and he to her, but...she's his little brother's ex-girlfriend. That's something Nate has issues with, but it's not all he has issues with.
Megan is determined to help with the family problems and keeps showing up to work with Nate. It makes things a little sticky. Megan will have to work extra hours to get through to Nate. Can Nate work through his problems so that they can have a relationship?
Another delightful book in the series by Kim Law. Loved it!
The narration by Amy McFadden was incredible. I think her voice was perfect for this book!

Love this family!

Another winner from the Wilde family. I loved this story so much. I was skeptical about the brother's ex part of it but it was beautifully written and I really enjoyed. Amy McFadden always does such an amazing job as a narrator.

Nate and Megan

When I read this story, I really enjoyed it. Author Kim Law wrote a complex and engrossing story. My enjoyment did not translate to the audio book, though. It's the same great story, but the narrator was not easy for me to listen to. Amy McFadden does a decent job reading the story, but there was something about her voice that made listening difficult for me. This is just my opinion, as you might enjoy her reading. The story really is good, so give it a try. My original review of the book follows:

Family dynamics play a critical role in the development of children. For Megan, it left her wanting a home of her own and a love that sticks. For Nate, it made him run at 18 and now he doesn’t know how to stop. This story kept me turning pages til the end. There’s just so much going on! There’s sibling shenanigans, business ventures, love stories, and family. I really enjoyed watching Nate and Megan fall in love. Author Kim Law does a fantastic job writing these complex characters. And they really are complex, with their pasts, their future dreams, their current situations, and their connections. She gets inside their heads and makes them come alive. The secondary characters are pretty awesome, too. If you’ve read any of the prior books in this series, you’ll recognize most of them, but this story can stand alone. I really enjoyed Nate’s work friends and Brooke. This is a wonderful addition to the Wildes of Birch Bay series.
