She vowed to protect her heart....

Andie Shayne believes in forever...for everyone else. She has an up-and-coming wedding planning business, and her own failed engagement, to prove it. Now all Andie wants is to save the date for Seaglass Celebrations becoming a premier destination wedding resort. And making sure the wedding of the summer goes off without a hitch will get her there - despite the arrival of one unexpected guest.

The sexy-as-sin best man...who’s also the ex who broke Andie’s heart.

Mark Kavanaugh wants to make amends with Andie. He knows breaking off their engagement - at the altar! - was unforgivable. But he’s a wiser man now, vowing to make peace with his past. But with desire reigniting on Turtle Island, Mark realizes he never stopped loving Andie. He wants her; and this time, he’s determined to do it right.

A VERY beautifully written book!!

This wonderfully, romantic story will make you want to setup plans for a romantic vacation/wedding/vow renewal or anything else to the beach, so you can hopefully experience at least some of what you read in this fun, sexy, HOT book!!

"Women Can be Stronger Than Men"

Would you listen to Ex on the Beach again? Why?

Yes, great reminders to not have self doubt, and character counts!

What did you like best about this story?

this had a little of everything...love returned, love/distrust and light mystry. Most of all, this book is not dark, inked bodies, and so erotic you have to listen with headphones. this writer has style and it shows in her characters. See Shannon review as it is spot on.

What about Natalie Ross’s performance did you like?

I love her male voices and buy most everything she reads in the romance section. She can make an average book good and good book great. She is good at sassy dialogue.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

no great moment, but lots of good fun scenes ie: sport fishing and when Mark has insite on his "best friend".

Any additional comments?

this author is priced so great, and read so wonderfully by N. Ross, that it is an automatic download for me. What a great reasonable way to spend time.

ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL

The title and cover didn't prepare me for the wonderfully romantic story inside! Sometimes fate and love work together to get things right in the end. The journey may be long, we may hurt at times and not always understand things, but sometimes everything comes together for an unexpected happily ever after! I enjoyed every minute of it!

Cheesy title belies what a GREAT BOOK this is!

I chose this title because I have always enjoyed the narrator, Natalie Ross and it was relatively inexpensive with my member discount. What a wonderful surprise! I have a new author to explore all of her other works. Kim Law has written an intelligent, charming, funny, and moving story about Andi and Mark set in a fictional place I wish was real, Turtle Island. I want to live there too!
This story moves the two main characters past something that seems impossible to get past, but she does so believably. Perhaps it was that I related a lot to the main character or at least how she handles conflict, but I really felt it was realistic (something you don't always find in a romance novel).
This book had me laughing out loud at times, holding my breath during a few pretty steamy scenes and ultimately sighing with contentment.
Great book, highly recommend it! Looking forward to checking out the next book in the series as well as the author's earlier series!

These Two Are Fated to Be Together

What did you love best about Ex on the Beach?

I thought both Andi and Mark were very believable characters - flaws and all. I enjoyed seeing them work through their thoughts and coming to realize how each had failed the other and realizing that they loved the other despite it all. Kim Law was excellent at depicting the pain both Mark and Andi carried from the ending of their first relationship, and of course the love scenes were hot! I also liked that there were other secondary stories -- Andi's relationship with her mother, the secret of the rift between Andi's mother and her Aunt Ginny, the Bride to be and the dirtbag groom to be -- all gave depth and dimension to the overall story. Natalie Ross's narration is just wonderful. I actually found this book because I was looking for books narrated by Ms. Ross (after having finished the Off the Record series).

What other book might you compare Ex on the Beach to and why?

This was one of the first reunion books I've ever read, so I can't think of similar story lines, but because of the narration, I did continue to think of Off the Record, On the Record and For the Record.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely! I couldn't stop until the end!

Any additional comments?

I will continue to look for books by Kim Law because I enjoy the many layers to her writing. I think her characters are complex and well crafted.

Give Me a Break

I really wanted to like Andie, introduced as a hardworking 20 something woman who earned a scholarship to Harvard and started multiple businesses on a South Carolina island. Andie was actually a wimpy, insecure fraud who kept secrets from her family, close friends and ex fiancé Mark.

Mark wasn't a prize either; 3 years earlier he left Andie at the alter for the filthiest of reasons. Evidently Mark and Andie never talked about anything important, (then or now) so they were almost complete strangers who didn't understand the other.

Suddenly, Mark pops back in Andie's life and they still aren't honest about their feelings or the past. Besides having semi-public sex, they barely communicate, which made their sudden new romance very unrealistic to me. I started zoning out about half way through and really didn't care how it all ended.

Andi and Mark are reunited at a wedding taking place at Andi's Inn.

Mark had walked away from his and Andi's wedding four years earlier without a word to her. Even though she is still hurt from his actions, it is obvious they are both still in love. Andi is the wedding planner for this wedding that is turning into a fiasco. If the wedding doesn't take place she will lose a large bonus. Mark proposes to Andi but she doesn't feel he has changed enough. Will they be able to work things out. Wonderful characters, great location, good narration.
