This first book in the Tucker Mills Trilogy from beloved author Lori Wick follows Jace Randall as he leaves his childhood home to help his Uncle Woody Randall run the saw mill in Token Creek. Jace diligently focuses on work until he meets the visiting niece of local storekeepers. Jace pursues her until she finally agrees to attend a picnic with him and take a chance. But before the relationship has a strong foundation, the couple separates because of gossip fueled by Jace's sister. Later, when she admits her wrongdoing and shares her testimony of a new faith, the couple must decide whether to try again. Will the sister's example of faith and transformation be enough to restore broken dreams?©2005 Lori Wick (P)2005 Oasis Audio Christian Fiction Fiction Genre Fiction Historical Historical Fiction Romance

It was refreshing to hear narration free of profanity and filled with hope and truth. A must "hear" for Christians and those seeking truth.

Good listen

The text was a little dry, but I was set to rate it higher until the end when nothing was settled.

No Ending!

I have read these books before… Though I have to tell you that it was a long time ago. Probably back when they first came out. Then it was a paperback copy, and now it is an audiobook.

The series I typically read feature a different couple for each book. This series follows that, but this first book, Moonlight on the Millpond, starts long before the couple meet or even live in the same town and follows them through a big announcement after they are married. Neither one of the couple are saved by the end of the book, but they both do believe in God. They search for a saving knowledge of God, but are not ready to make a decision yet.

I was rather startled when the book ended at a time that gave us no ending as it stopped before it truly began. I don't honestly know that if I didn't already have the second book to move on to, whether or not I would have bought the second book. It is honestly like reading this story for the first time as I remember very little of this. I believe the fact that I have not picked this book up and read it again until now, speaks to the fact that this is not one of my favorite series from Lori Wick.

I honestly wish that my favorite series of hers was available in audiobook. I love, "A place called home" series & the first and last book of the Kensington Chronicles are books that I read over and over again… Or at least I used to, before my disability made it impossible for me to read paperbacks.

A different way to write a series
