Publisher's summary

Moorings is the third in a chilling series of books which will rapidly convert followers of L. J. Ross, Faith Martin, Joy Ellis and Helen H. Durrant into David Blake devotees.

When Harry Falcon, a wealthy boatyard owner and decorated World War Two veteran, is found drowned in his bath, DI John Tanner and DC Jenny Evans start by questioning his two sons, each with a motive for wanting him dead. But when the elder son is found with his head smashed in under a toppled yacht, and the younger son has been talking to a local property developer, one who’d spent months trying to buy the yard from his father, the investigation soon leads them towards a dark and dangerous secret, one which nobody can quite believe. Set within the Norfolk Broads, this fast-paced British detective series is a murder mystery that will have you guessing until the very end, when the last shocking twist is finally revealed.

The action.

The pace of the book was fast and logical. I find the author’s style easy to follow.

Purse

This series has good story lines and character development. This is going to sound like a petty complaint - why would the female detective carry a purse that she has to fumble around in at critical points in the storyline? She is written as an intelligent detective. Wouldn't she be wearing clothing with pockets to hold her phone, badge, gloves, evidence bags, etc?

Great book and reader

The authors books are getting better and better. The reader is as usual fantastic. I like the way this series has evolved over time, and I look forward to the next installment

Really good mystery/crime

The story is really compelling and the narrator really brought it to life. Suspected many but did not figure out the bad guy due to a bit of a twist, but the clues are there. I almost took a star off for Tanner's behavior. Just like book #2 he makes stupid decisions and flies off the handle too easily. The relationship between Tanner and Evans is emoitonally sophmoric. They both need to grow up with their feelings or the author needs to quit protraying them like a character in a YA genre. The book is worth reading and you will be on edge. Looking forward to the next installment.

Candy

I sure hope Audible keeps this series going ASAP!! It’s one of the best I’ve listened to having over 225 books in my library!! The author is such a humerus writer and the narrator is excellent!! I laugh out loud with the banter between John and his girl whose name slips my mind at this time:( I already purchased the next next book and can’t wait for it to be released!! Excellent Excellent Excellent!!

Great series and narration..

Another good murder-mystery ‘starring’ John Tanner and Jenny Evans. This time it was about the murders of a father and his 2 sons then the discovery of a lot of murdered young women, including Tanner’s daughter, a year before. It was a very exciting story.

The only romance was of Tanner and Jenny living together but there wasn’t even a kiss shared between them and the F-bomb was used 15 times.

As to the narration: LOVE Jonathan Keeble! He’s an awesome narrator.

I’m hooked on the series now!

Really enjoying this series! Downloading next one, even as I write this review.
Pluses:
1. Storyline
2. Character development & character interplay
3. Excellent narration
4. Kept me engaged
Minuses (minor):
1. Editing errors (consistently incorrect use of word “innocuous”)
2. Superhero speed of recovery from physical injuries
3. Minor glitches in storyline (eg Protagonist falls in water, wrecking cell phone. 10 minutes pass in story time - and he’s miraculously using the cell phone. Oops).
