Who doesn’t love a friends to lovers story?

I REALLY loved this story! It has surprises and some fun! Dane is my favorite!! He is a guy who runs his own firm but yet is afraid to tell his BFF if 10 years how he feels about her. All it took was a game of Truth or Dare to start these two down the road! Sterling, (great name BTW) went through many emotions and She thought she found the love of her life...but was devastated when it turn out she was wrong. Then that Truth or Dare game, a few days and some Tequila...their lives change.

The secondary characters are fun as well! Max and Betsy are two great friends of Dane and Sterling. They help move the story along perfectly. Then their parents and Luke all fun and very helpful to the story.

This isn’t my first book by this author. I really like her storytelling. She ways get me with that emotional punch! She crafts a story perfectly and I always look forward to meeting her characters. I look forward to the next in this series.

I did listen to this On audio. Lacy Laurel and Gregory Salinas do a wonderful job.

Great story!!

Absolutely loved this story! Love was right in front of their faces their entire lives without knowing the other felt the same way! Once they let go and explore their feelings, it’s full steam ahead into their happily ever after. The narrators did an awesome job of bringing the story to life and definitely worth the listen!

LOVED THIS ONE

Wow I love a friends to lovers book. The friendship and connection with Dane and Sterling was awesome. There is actions that are extremely sad in this but it adds to the depth of the story. I really enjoyed it and will download Max's story on my kindle since its not available on Audible yet. I want to know :) Lacy and Gregory (hidden sexy gem he is) did a fantastic job.

A little too "everyday life" for me

The 2 star review might seem harsh to some, but it's not meant to be. I truly found the story to be "ok". Dane and Sterling were likeable characters, but their story was not entertaining enough to me. It was the average couple living average lives and doing average things. Now, that COULD be an advantage to a reader that is sick of reading about billionaire hockey-playing navy SEALs that are president of a motorcycle club, and the beautifully stunning virginal secretary that thinks being size 8 is fat. If you want more realistic characters, you will enjoy this one!

The writing style also had some issues for me. Present tense, in my opinion, is just really hard to pull off. It seems like every sentence starts with "I" or "We" and they start to feel simplistic and choppy.

I enjoyed the first half of the story. It held promise of good characters and an interesting story, but there was never any great conflict. (Sure there were challenges, but nothing that really drove the story to a climactic conclusion.) About halfway, there is a scene at Thanksgiving. I won't giveaway any spoilers, but that is the exact moment I felt "the turn" from interesting to plain. They have an almost-HEA moment that I really expected to be followed by an epilogue.

After that point, the chapters sounded like reading a girl's diary about the boy she has a crush on and what she did today. I couldn't figure out where the story was going since they had their semi-HEA and then it was all about doing the normal work and relationship things.

The narrators both did a fine job, but nothing really outstanding in the way of a performance.

I received a copy of the audio version from the author in exchange for an honest review.
