Publisher's summary

“Do you remember what you promised?”Maverick: I haven't been back to Rabbit Island, South Carolina, since my parents died and my grandmother, Mimi, rejected me. I'm only returning now to attend her funeral and sell an estate I never wanted. But the moment I step foot on the island and fall into Beau’s arms, I realize it might not be so easy to say goodbye after all.Beau Talmadge was always the boy next door, but now he’s no longer a kid. The man is hot as hell and pushes all my buttons in the very best way. I'm supposed to leave in a week. Sell everything, close the door on my past, and walk away forever. So why am I letting myself fall for someone who lives thousands of miles away? And how the hell am I going to break it off when it's time to go? “That I’d come back.”Beau: It took one short summer to fall in love with Maverick Mitchell and fifteen long years to forget him when he left. I’d never expected to see him again, but when he shows up at Mimi’s funeral looking lost and lonely I can’t resist doing anything I can to comfort him. Falling into bed with Maverick is easy and the nights we spend together are as hot and steamy as a South Carolina thunderstorm.I know it's not smart. I know it's not what he planned. But dammit, Mav belongs in my arms, in my bed, and in my life. So how the hell do I get him to stay? “Took you long enough.” Fair warning: Moving Maverick is a 73k word gay romance novel featuring sweet tea vodka, fancy salt and pepper shakers, guys catching crabs (not that kind), Aunt Tilly with a knife, and multiple detailed instances of man parts touching. Moving Maverick is the fifth book in the best-selling Made Marian series. It can be read on its own but is much more fun read as part of the series. The series begins with Borrowing Blue and each book follows a Marian brother's se

Soul Mates

If you could sum up Moving Maverick in three words, what would they be?

Love survives time

What did you like best about this story?

The shared history and love that started in childhood and lasted until they found each other again. It will make you believe in soul mates again.

Which character – as performed by Michael Pauley – was your favorite?

Beau and Aunt Tilley and Maverick - I can't pick just one.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely

Any additional comments?

After each Made Marian audio book, I think that the one I just read was my favorite. But I have loved every one and look forward to the last one, Delivering Dante.

One of the best series out there...

I loved this audiobook because I'm from a small town in South Carolina and could evision Rabbit Island so well. This whole series is brilliant! And Michael Pauley is by far one of the best narrators out there. He brings the characters to life like no one else can. This story had me on pins and needles waiting for what would happen next. It's like Beau and Maverick were truly made for one another...they are so HOT together! Great story especially for summer! Oh and Aunt Tilly, Granny and Irene make this series more than hilarious. They're little spitfires! I will always read Lucy's books!

Excellent!

I am truly enjoying this series! Each story is original and I like all of the characters. Not my favorite in the series, but definitely worth a credit. The author is one of my favorites. I love her writing style and the narrator is wonderful!

This one made me tear up a bit 😥🤧😊

Out of all of the ones in the series, I think I identified with this one the most since I'm from South Carolina originally and the whole having to move cross country instead of trying to do a long distance relationship. However, I did also really enjoy Burning Blue, Taming Teddy, and Jumping Jude. Grounding Griffin was good too, but not as good as the others.

Amazing

I love this book. Compared to the other four wonderful books before this one was different. Lots of laughter and lots of teary eyes in this book that’s for sure. Just like other Marian brother’s the ending was happy and delightful.

Maverick & Beau are goals!

The Made Marian series is one of the best out there, which is why I have been dragging it out. No one wants it to be over. It’s hard not to fall for the Marian family. And Maverick is no different, especially when we see him with Beau.

Maverick’s grandmother left him to go into foster care when his parents died. Thankfully he found his way to the amazing Marian family, but the rejection has always stung. It also meant leaving Beau, his childhood best friend. When they are reunited at the funeral it’s like no time and all the time has passed.

It’s a healing story, with one very lovely local and a boy who gets a chance at love and peace.

Seriously, Beau is a fantastic human, even if a little too eager. I loved the growth both of these men went through. And of course, the Marian family is always their amazing supportive selves.

Michael Dean does a wonderful job of narrating this story. He seems to understand the characters and delivers their story convincingly.

My heart has a happy :)

I loved Moving Maverick the e-book and Michael Pauley just has this amazing way of making everything somehow better. Even when it was already awesome, he just has the power to really bring a story and its characters to life and take the whole thing to a new level. He is so much fun to listen to and despite listening to several books now with him as the narrator, I don't feel like I'm listening to the same characters or bored at hearing the same voice. Each book and each character is fresh and distinctive and new and a joy to hear.

My original Amazon review for the e-book:
I like reading. I like reading a lot. I've been reading for a really long time (several decades). But you know what? Unlike when I first started reading many many moons ago with a tender heart and fresh perspective, I've found that it's a lot fewer and far between that I fall in love, that when a book is finished I can't just simply move on to a new one, that the characters and their story make me feel warm and fuzzy and smiley all over and just stay with me for days and days later. That I look forward to right after reading, also listening to their audiobook so I can hear them come alive. That I also want to own them in paperback so I can hug them close and pet those pretty pretty covers. That in a couple of months or even weeks I want to re-read the story, not because I've forgotten, but because I remember. Moving Maverick is the fifth book in Lucy Lennox's Made Marian series and the fifth time that this has happened to me. I fall in love with all of her characters. I smile big cheesy smiles during all of her books. I laugh out loud and have been exiled from reading in bed at night when the SO is asleep. I've wanted to hug the hurt out of several of her men and in this book I needed a hug too. I want to be best friends with everyone in this family. The world needs the Marians'.

Besides lovable characters, stories infused with interesting little details about work, or locations, quirks, and endearing small casual shows of affection (massaging a foot or rubbing a calf while cuddling on the couch), humor and witty banter, intelligence and thoughtful motivations, I have been greatly impressed and extremely appreciative of the consistency in writing. These books have been coming out fast. I love that because of course I'm impatient to read another great story and fall in love again, but if I have to wait longer for a book in order to guarantee quality than of course I'd rather wait. But these books? they have not suffered one bit for how swiftly they've been produced. They are amazing, each one in it's own way, and that is a true testament to the talent of this author. I don't expect this pace to necessarily last, but what it has done, is reassured me that I won't be falling out of love with Lucy Lennox and her stories. I have a few authors I adore and if I couldn't read anything new by anyone else ever again, I would be just fine with only reading their stories because they have proven their talent and love for what they do. They are not writing to just write. They love and care for the subjects of their stories. I don't have to worry when the next book comes out in a series if it's worth the money. If I'm going to enjoy it. I know because of who wrote it. And Lucy Lennox is one of those few authors who fall into that category. Her books are must reads. Re-reads. Go to reads. Going out of my mind waiting to read. No matter how I personally feel, it will be a good time read.

I don't go into specifics of a story in my reviews because that's what a blurb is for. Because I know other reviewers will have that covered. I'm not looking to closely inspect and dissect the story. What I want you to know is:

Did I fall in love? Yes, my heart has been stolen.

Would I re-read? Absolutely! over and over.

Were there moments- sad, funny, sweet, fantasy fueling- that I replay? You betcha.

Was it worth the money? I've received each book as an arc, and I've bought each book anyway. This book is no exception.
