About this listen

Every woman wants to be Elizabeth Bennet Darcy - beautiful, gracious, universally admired, strong, daring and outspoken - a thoroughly modern woman in crinolines.

And every woman will fall madly in love with Mr. Darcy - tall, dark and handsome, a nobleman and a heartthrob whose virility is matched only by his utter devotion to his wife.

Their passion is consuming and idyllic - essentially, they can’t keep their hands off each other - through a sweeping tale of adventure and misadventure, human folly and numerous mysteries of parentage.

Hold on to your bonnets! This sexy, epic, hilarious, poignant, and romantic sequel to Pride and Prejudice goes far beyond Jane Austen.

Darcy's and Elizbeth's love continued..

If you could sum up Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife in three words, what would they be?

Read my Imagination

Who was your favorite character and why?

Elizabeth as she is still very strong and her personality remained true to the original character.

Have you listened to any of Rosalyn Landor’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No

Any additional comments?

This may be a little more edgy compared to the original book but if you've always wondered what ever happened to Elizabeth and Darcy this book is probably one of the best that captures your imagination and makes you believe in the story. I've read quite a number of these continuation stories and this one is by far the best one. I didn't much care for Jane and Bingley's story line though, but other than that this is a great book and very entertaining.

WOW!

Would you listen to Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife again? Why?

Yes and I have! I love the interaction between Darcy and Elizabeth (HOT!). The book gave you a more in-depth look into Darcy's personality.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife?

BOOTS! I could not believe Darcy never put two and two together. I must mention that "having sex while pregnant will scare the baby" was hilarious! Only Jane

What about Rosalyn Landor’s performance did you like?

Yes. Very nice job.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Both dealing with their own tragedies/depressions but was still able to find each which took their love to deeper levels.

Any additional comments?

Towards the end, the story got a bit long but overall I enjoyed every minute of it. I would recommend this to anyone. (Over the age of 18)

Enjoyed!

I enjoyed this story TREMENDOUSLY! I was so sad when i finished and frantically searched for the sequel. Unfortunately the author has no other audiobooks. In the beginning I wasn’t happy with narrator but by the 3rd chapter i became accustomed to her voice and rather enjoyed it. I hope the author decides to do the second book on audio soon!

A fitting "sequel"

I thoroughly enjoyed the story. The superb narration enhanced the experience for me. The characters came alive.

Not quite Austen, but a wonderful story

While the voice of the author is a little bit different than Jane Austen, the story itself is quite enjoyable and certainly makes you remember the characters of Elizabeth and Darcy from Jane Austen‘s novel.

Simply put - the Best

Absolutely a must read. This is my second time through and the first listening to it recorded. The author is extraordinarily witty - time after time. The reader is excellent!!!! I wasn’t a huge fan of her male voices, but her delivery is so beautifully done that it doesn’t matter. All of her voice inflections etc really fit beautifully. It’s a long and extremely involved story with tons of in-depth Darcy and Elizabeth time. If you don’t mind (or even appreciate) some exceedingly intimate / sensual moments, this is a bit to be missed book. It will stick with you, for sure. Lots of side stories make this a richly composed novel. Wish I had time to write more, but this will suffice for now. 10 stars.

Great use of a credit!

Any additional comments?

Sometimes when I buy really long books to get the most "bang" for my credit buck I am bored with the book by the end. This one is well paced and had enough side plots to keep me interested. Also the main characters are fun and likeable. I am not an Austin devotee but I thought the author did a believeable continuation

Well worth the time!

I loved it. This book kept my interest throughout! The story the historical background and the great love between Lizzy and Darcy. I must mention the humor that is sprinkled through out will at the least bring a smile to your lips or an audible chuckle to the room your in. Well worth your monthly credit! This author and her narrator go together like bread and butter! Great book with a fabulous narration.

Enchanting, and not at all what I expected

At first, at points, I was appalled at the extra add ins to Darcy’s character. And to even several more of the male characters. But, I grew to love this story, and will cherish it. If you are a Pride & Prejudice fan, give the book a try.
