Paxton Vance isn't as cryptic as he thinks. That broody nature and tough-guy exterior aren't fooling me one bit.
I know everything about him. I listen in on his most personal phone calls. I read his mail before he does. I even know what his mother got him for Christmas last year.
You're the man of my dreams, Paxton Vance. You just don't know it yet. But don't worry, I'll remind you. I'm here to give you everything you need, before you know you need it.
So don't get defensive because I take a challenge seriously. You have to open up to someone, and that someone is me.
Besides, you can't stay Mr. Mysterious forever. Why play the game if you never want to win?

I have struggled through a couple of the Mr books because of the narration. Great narrators have made me love and anticipate the next book. I was also happy that a few answers were given. Truly enjoyed it. Just my kind of dirty talk and mystery in one book.GREAT NARRATION MADE THIS SERIS EVEN BETTER

So, yeah, start with book 1, which mostly sticks to Mr. Perfect and Ellie, then it’ll be easier to understand book 2 when the characters multiply.
This book 4 brings back the recipe I liked from book 1, mixing a sexy & fun romance with a series-spanning mystery and adding the author’s trademark, anything but vanilla sex. Further, it didn’t have the twisted dark-fantasy element of book 2 or the overly angsty pasts of book 3. so the lighter romance gave better balance with the finally unrolling mystery.
The romance: I generally don’t like crazy stalker gals in my romances, but Cinderella is feisty and together she and Pax are so much fun with their role play. This author’s books tend to have a very high sex to story ratio and this one had the most dirty deeds of all the books in the series so far; the quantity and level of dirty detail was a bit much for me and I fast forwarded through several of the scenes.
The mystery: after revealing a paltry 5% of the series mystery at the end of each book, this book finally gives us a meaty mystery chunk. The mystery is still only half open, however, so you might want to wait until you have book 5 before embarking on this series (book 6 is more of a bonus, book-length epilogue to the series). Also, you’ll get more out of the mystery if you can suspend disbelief. The tie-ins and reasons for subterfuge are far-fetched and will bother you if you think too deeply about them. Just listen and enjoy in the same way you’d enjoy the mystery in any comic book.
