About this listen

"The devil's in the details when a man is found murdered near Trinity Church in the latest installment of the national bestselling Gaslight Mystery series...

The year of 1899 is drawing to a close. Frank and Sarah Malloy are getting ready to celebrate the New Year at Trinity Church when they notice Mr. Pritchard, a relative of their neighbor's behaving oddly and annoying the other revelers. Frank tries to convince Pritchard to return home with them, but the man refuses and Frank loses him in the crowd. The next morning Sarah and Frank are horrified to learn Pritchard was murdered sometime in the night, his body left on Trinity Place, the side street near the church.

The police aren't too interested in the murder, and the family are concerned that the circumstances of the death will reflect badly on Pritchard's reputation. To protect the family from scandal, Nelson asks Frank to investigate. Frank and Sarah delve into Pritchard's past and realize there may have been a deadly side to the dawning of the new century."

Really Awesome!

This was one of the best ones so far and that's saying a lot because they're all good. Last one was a little slow, but this one picked up the momentum of the other entries. Narration is great too.

The best of the Gaslight Mystery books

I have thoroughly enjoyed the Gaslight Mysteries & hope this isn’t the last. (Please, Victoria, another Gaslight Mystery. This was your best - but then I say that for every one I read & I’ve read them all.)

Simply the best

This story was absolutely the best in the series. Great character and plot development. There were a couple of really good twists. The social issues addressed are still timely. I'm really looking forward to the next installment.

One of the best in the series!

Did I enjoy it because I am all caught up with the series and had to wait for this instalment to come out? Whatever the reason, I really liked it.

As always however, I do wish there were more developments in the Frank & Sarah storyline.

Always a pleasure to read about Sarah and Frank

These are some of my favorite stories. I love the characters and all the little bits of history that gets included in these murder mysteries. Please don't stop finding murders for Sarah and Frank to solve. Also, I hope to see more of Jack and his new bride in future adventures.

Happy 1900

As the new year begins another murder crosses Sarah and Frank path. All my favorite minor characters are affected by the murder. Mrs Elsworth’s son’s Father in Law has been murdered on New Year’s Day. The story is quicker paced. Sarah and Frank work together to solve this mystery. They get help from Jack Tobertson and Mrs Decker and mother Malloy contributed to helping. Ms Smith and Mr Donitteli (sp) sorry listen don’t read so spelling may not be correct. Victoria you have done it again can wait to read the next book!!

Fascinating history

I wasn’t as focused during this listen, but loved learning about that unique aspect of history regarding milk. It’s easy to understand how they had to deal with supplying milk in such a crowded city, but sad it had the effect it did on children.
