Publisher's summary

Marie Bellavance has known for years that she will die of the same incurable disease her mother did. That's why she never dated and doesn't allow anyone to get close to her. But now, as an employee of the paranormal dating agency Midnight Liaisons, she has a chance: if she can find someone to turn her into a supernatural creature, she'll be cured!

Flirty were-cougar Joshua Russell has wanted standoffish Marie for his own, but she's been off limits as a human. When he catches her sneaking away from a vampire date gone wrong, he steps in and offers his own services. As a vampire bodyguard, he's able to tell her which vamps will be the perfect ones to date. But he's secretly got a better plan in mind: if she wants to date the supernatural, a handsome were-cougar would be the best choice of all.

3.5 Stars

I liked this one but Marie kept making me mad with her stupid decisions. For me this story was just stretched it could have been so much better with about 2 hours shaved off. It took 3 days for me to finish but still the story was good.

When will they stop using this narrator!!!

Ugh she ruins a perfectly good story. She is constantly breathy and her male voices are terrible. One is described as do deep and sexy and instead it's barely different from the female voices she uses. This is definitely a case where reading the book beats the audible. The way she narrates makes the males all sound smarmy and definitely not sexy

I loved/hated this book

I both loved and hated this book.

I loved the male lead, Josh, in this book. He was handsome, kind, and a smart-alack. What I disliked about this book was the female lead. She was just so dense and so hurtful to Josh. She constantly refused to give Josh credit for being a decent guy for no apparent reason other than he dated a lot in his past. I just got to the point where I was muttering out loud about how stupid she was. The ending of the book also just seemed to drag out f-o-r-e-v-e-r. I really enjoyed all the other books in this series. I think if Maria had not been so dumb and self-absorbed, I would have enjoyed this book more.

I Want to be a Cougar!

First Impression:

Another fun and sexy read from Jessica Sims.

What I liked:

Everything.

Marie is a great heroine. She’s strong and sassy. She’s a little naïve when it comes to supes even though she’s worked as Midnight Liaisons for a year. But she keeps to herself and the supes try to keep as much as they can from humans so her naïve about them is understandable.

Joshua is just down right sexy. I picture him as Jason Stackhouse in True Blood but with more brains. LOL He’s known as a player, never having a long relationship with one woman. But Marie has him wanting more. And good for her, she makes him work for it.

What I didn’t like:

Nothing! As far as the writing, plot and characters I really enjoyed Must Love Fangs. My only complaint was the narration.

The Narration:

Leah Mallach continues to do an ok job with the narration. My only complaint this time around is her lack of a French accent for Marie when she was cussing in French. Marie’s mother was French Canadian and that’s where she learned to cuss in French. But I guess with Marie living in Texas she’s not going to have a French accent but still I would have liked to have a good fake French accent. Mallach didn’t change her accent at all for those French dirty words.

Lasting Impression:

Must Love Fangs has it all; humor, mystery, sexy times, sad times and fur and fangs. Jessica Sims is always a good for a light and fun read.

Will I continue this series?

Yes! I’ve requested book 4, Wanted: Wild Thing from the audio publisher already and can’t wait to listen to Ryder’s story.

A bite for a cure.

Of the four books from the Midnight Liaisons series I've read (Out With a Fang, Beauty Dates the Best, Desperately Seeking Shapeshifter, and this one), this was probably my least favorite. That's not to say it was not a great book though. I've come to absolutely adore this series and Jessica Sims' writing.

In this book, Marie is dying from a rare disease with no cure. The only way she can see to live is by being turned. After a forced turning by a tiger shifter, though, the Alliance has banned shifters from turning anyone. That leaves vampires, so a vampire to turn her is exactly what Marie sets out to find.

For some reason Marie can't understand, cougar shifter and assumed playboy, Josh Russell, has taken an interest in her. Seeing get naivety about vampires, he offers to help her, and she can't turn him down. But in taking his help, she has unknowingly made the situation far more complicated.

When Marie ignores Josh's warning about a vampire and finds herself in a wine cellar, it is Josh who saves her. That being said, once no longer trapped in the cellar, she does help to save Josh in turn.

She didn't trust Josh when she should have, but how could he possibly find a solution that didn't involve her being turned by a vampire? By the end of the book Marie and Josh do find their HEA and the book ends without a cliffhanger. This book can be read as a stand-alone, but I would highly recommend reading the rest of the series as well.

Loved those Fangs

One of the things I adored about this book was the very different fatal disease that Marie had. I’ve read books before where people have cancer, or something of the sort, but never before had I ever heard of fatal insomnia. Who would have ever thought such a thing existed? It was so unique and different!

The sexy times are pretty hot and well written, and affectionate. In romance miscommunication is always a factor, so that is in there. But I really enjoyed the story and stayed up well past my bedtime to find out what would happen; while who Marie would hook up with was apparent, the outcome was not.

I thoroughly enjoyed both Marie & Josh. Their story was simply riveting. Must Love Fangs is a page turner, sexy and fun. Can't get enough of this series. Definitely a must read for paranormal lovers.

I think this was my favorite of the series.

IT'S GOT THAT 'FEEL GOOD FACTOR' & SO DELICIOUS

What the Publisher's Summary doesn't tell you about this book is just how funny it is as the interactions between some of the characters are so well written that you just can't help but feel a part of all the goings-on and comradeship that a friendly close office brings.

Joshua, a handsome (naturally) charismatic, were-shifter and a one night stand playboy who works for The Midnight Liaisons Dating Agency where Marie works and he comes in every day teasing and flirting with her. She thinks she knows his game and spouts some funny one-liners and French swear words at him but always knocks him back every day as she has a tragic secret and a desperate path ahead of her that she must take.

I just loved loved loved this riveting romance that was enjoyable and entertaining right from the first chapter til the last as it had a great plot, filled with interesting characters, it had vampires, action, sex, a sweet romance and a few very tense moments as Marie tries desperately to stay alive. She made some stupid stupid choices (that'll have you so wanting to shake some sense into her) but through it all Josh (who is just sooo loveable) is there ready to be her Knight in Shining Armour.

Worth a credit? Oh YES it was a very pleasurable listen, one of the best in the series so far, could be a stand-alone listen and it'll leave you panting for your very own were-shifter - but get in the queue.

Love the Series but...

The series is great but... This story was good. Joshua the hero was great but the Heroine Marie was a little, well stupid. Don't get me wrong I liked her through most of the story but when she keeps making stupid mistakes it became ridiculous. By the climatic end I could care less if she got kidnapped or chained to a wall in the basement.

How can I explain this better... If this was a horror movie Marie would be the preverbal "Dumb Blonde". She hears the menacing music while standing on "Elm" street. She sees a trail of blood and follows it to the dark house with friends shouting "Marie don't go in". She ignores them. She goes in anyway and when she gets stabbed stares in disbelief at the large hunting knife in her chest.

With that being said, the author does a good job bringing the Heroine around in the last chapters and epilogue.

Jessica Sims is a wonderful writer and does a great job with her character development and the story held my attention in spite of Marie's less than intelligent actions.

Leah Mallach did and awesome job with the Narration. Her character voices were very distinct for each character. She does a great job at making men sound like... well men.

Series five stars, but because of Marie this book four stars.
