About this listen

It lives.

In a research hangar in Virginia, a Unit 51 team studies an ancient but long-dormant virus that can transform human physiology - and turn it into something else....

It mutates.

In the Amazon rain forest, a newly evolving life form known as Subject Z acquires the ability to think conceptually, build elaborate traps, create new carriers - and spawn a new race....

It spreads.

In Mexico and Turkey, the men and women of Unit 51 race to uncover a global link between the mutations: a connection as ancient as the oldest tombs on earth - and as alien and unknowable as the universe itself. But time is running out. The infected are growing in number. And the nightmare is going viral.

Great fun fiction

Great science fiction/fantasy series
Good time and a good way to lose yourself
I’m sure some think it’s more conspiracy theory than fiction.

Mutation

I absolutely enjoyed this 3 book series. Author Michael McBride has created sci-fi thriller that will keep you at night. Hi-tech researchers, scientists and explorers will have to confront an assortment of bad guys throughout the world in a race to save themselves and mankind.
If you have a difficult time stopping in the middle of the excitement, I highly recommend the performance s by Neil Hellegers. The action never has to stop.

Review of Mutation

I did not care for the narrator. It was difficult for me to hear/understand the words. Seemed to be a hushed whisper. Also, I had a difficult time following and understanding the story. Normally I love this authors work. I could not get into this at all. Did not finish the last four hours. I give it four stars overall because I bet others will enjoy it more than I did.

Really Good Story

I just finished listening to the last book of the trilogy. I loved it. It was very creepy at times, and I could see the images of the creatures in my head as the narrator read. The characters were well planned out, and all the loose ends were tied up by the end. Very nice story.

Just a great story

This entire book makes you feel they will fail and maybe they do. Gripping story, too bad I either am having user error or the way he’s written the books I can never keep track of the characters, always confused.

Read the prequels first.

This is not a good stand alone book. Read the other two books in the series first.
