About this listen

"Narrator Grover Gardner returns to breathe life into listeners' favorite dog-loving lawyer...In his vivid portrayal of the wisecracking Andy, Gardner creates a sense of a cheerful reunion with the lawyer for longtime listeners and a warm greeting for newcomers." (AudioFile Magazine, Earphones Award winner)

In David Rosenfelt's Andy Carpenter mystery, Muzzled, Andy and his beloved golden retriever, Tara, are back on the case as a favor to a friend. Andy Carpenter is a lawyer who would rather not practice law. He'd rather spend his time working with the Tara Foundation, his dog rescue organization, and being with his family and his two dogs, Tara and Sebastian. But when a friend asks him for a favor that involves both dogs and his lawyerly expertise, he can't say no.

Andy's friend Beth has found a stray that seems to have belonged to a murder victim - in fact, the man and two of his colleagues died in an explosion a few weeks ago. But when the murdered man contacts Beth, asking for his dog back, Andy knows there must be more to the story. The man claims his life is in danger, and that's why he disappeared.

As much as Andy doesn't want to get involved - anything to avoid a new case - he can't help but come to the rescue of a man who'd risk everything, even his life, to reunite with his dog. Once again, David Rosenfelt delivers suspense and laughter in equal measure in another engaging mystery from "one of the most unforgettable voices in the genre." (Associated Press)

For Andy Carpenter fans, this is a no brainer, go for it, For others, go for the other ones first.

For David Rosenfelt - you have tried hard, distorted characters and tried to create another series. Nothing beats Andy Carpenter as the lawyer with the original 5-6 characters. Please make it more fun. I do not need logic, just a smile, and a tad bit of intrigue.

Andy is back. But not at his best

David Rosenfelt always delivers with this series. Intriguing story lines, wonderful characters, special dogs, and lots of smiles, if not full on laughs. Grover Gardner is fantastic as Andy Carpenter. I can’t imagine anyone else as the narrator. I give this book a 5 star rating all the way around. And for those of you who don’t want to hear bad language, no problem here! Mr Rosenfelt’s books are refreshing free of “bad” language.

Love this series!

David Rosenfelt’s Andy Carpenter series read by Grover Gardner is the best audio series I know of. The characters are fantastic, the stories are entertaining, the narration is perfect. I laugh out loud. My only complaint is that they are far too short. Keep them coming please!

I have got to say that the Andy Carpenter series is one of the most enjoyable I have ever started and gone through. Andy Carpenter is one of the great characters of fiction. I love this guy. He makes me laugh and he smart too.

The great Andy Carpertee!

As is typical of an Andy Carpenter book, the outcome is formulaic. Good news: The formula works. I didn’t know how badly I needed to laugh and decompress! Oddly, it’s summary is only tangentially related to the plot. In fact, it seemed similar to many other books. I hesitated, but I am Glad I took the plunge.

Nothing like the Summary!

Less courtroom more excitement. I had begun to grow tired of too much court shenanigans. More Marcus and investigation is my speed. Andy’s sense of humor and sarcasm and dog love are what I love most about

Less courtroom

This is the second David Rosenfelt book I've listened to and it was equally as great as the first one. He tells an interesting story through the wise cracking words of a defense attorney. I was drawn to his books because I love dogs and he weaves them into his story just enough to keep dog lovers happy but doesn't overly dwell on them. I had listened to a number of disappointing books so this was a great discovery for me.

Great Read
