Publisher's summary

Why does something so wrong feel so right? And would this mean I lose my daughter forever? I can’t let that happen!

Boyce: I was a broken man trying to heal. She was my daughter’s best friend. Strictly off limits...until that one night, when she looked...all grown up.

Vivian: The day I lost my parents changed everything. Thankfully, I found a soft place to land. But when I grew up and moved away, I couldn’t get him out of my head. Now, I’m all grown up, he’s single, and we’re both willing.

Awesome for what it is!

I love this male narrators voice and acting so much but his female voices are f***ing atrocious lol and it's beyond frustrating when there's dual m/f narrators and they don't use the f narrator during female parts of dialogue.

The story is awesome for what it us. I do loooove that the h isn't some weak needy clingy moron. I love that she doesn't instantly agree to throw her entire plan away just to be with him. I love that she follows through with what she had planned and is so realistic. Like acknowledging that it could've just been sex or a one off. I love that she's the one who pulled away when necessary and cut him off. Freaking love the dynamic here because it's frustratingly rare when the h is the strong and reluctant one.

My Best Friend’s Dad

The storyline had potential and it would’ve been better with different narration, it was just so annoying listening to those voices…So probably not worth the credit unless you can get passed the voices.

My best friends dad

This was interesting. When you look past the fact that Boyce raised her from the age of 10, and the age difference. There was so much sex, it was hard to see what they really felt other than the physical for one another. After saying all that, this was a cute story.
What I enjoyed the most about this story is Mr. Alexander Cendese... I love how he brings so much enthusiasm, and life to a character.

Anticlimactic

Great narrators, good story overall, good topic, but I kept waiting for something meaty and it just never happened. Even the end was a little flat. Could have been better with a little extra in it.

Gross !!

He shacks up with his daughter’s best friend. Just gross. Especially after he raised her as his own. No. So wrong in so many ways.

If you like a lot of sex this is for you!

I'm not saying I did not enjoy this book. It had so much more potential... She is not a virgin btw when she sleeps with him, so idk why they say she is.....I did like the characters, the storyline was just as the summary reads.....nothing more... it had HEA ending.... but it was a lot of sneaking around.... always in bed or wishing they were together.... no real story.... now that being said....I did listen in 1sitting.... I did enjoy the sexy time... it was lacking character development and other characters..... still a good listen when your cleaning or driving

Greatly lacking geographical research; Okay-ish story

The performance is alright. The male voice was spot on and the woman’s voice gave the character some of the innocence it needed.

The story, just like every other of the niche genre, follows the trope of its kind. Rich man falls in love with child’s best friend- it’s in the title, so there aren’t any secrets there. Only, this one lacks build up between characters, aside from the awkward underage build up, before their relationship begins. This was a large portion of what made me lose interest.

Upfront I will admit that I could not finish this book, though I did get a good ways into it. Aside from the above mentioned, my biggest problem was legitimately on the lack of research done on the geographical location of the story. I live in Baltimore, where the inner harbor mentioned is located. His office is located a few block from this landmark. *Semi Spoiler Ahead*. Once the young girl leaves for college, there is grief that they can not see each other but once a week when she visits his house/ her childhood home on weekends. Only, the college she attends IS LOCATED IN BALTIMORE. The idea that they can only see each other on weekends when he has an apartment in the city and works downtown, all while her college is 20ish minutes from his work is worthy of a Picard facepalm. This pact of fact checking was more than distracting and ultimately led to my choice in not continuing the novel. If you’re not from here, I doubt this would bother you. However, I can’t support an author who does not do their due diligence in researching important aspects in relation to the story.

age range

I love a good age Gap story but this story had too many gaps in it of when the character started to develop feelings and it left the listener to fill in the gaps on their own, and from listening to the story it was a hell no for the gauge gap, for them to start developing feelings she's in middle school and he's 40 something years old developing feelings that's a hell no, if that's not the writers intent then it needs to be explained more in the book because it wasn't...... the story seem like it was short but more detailed information could have been provided to make it clear on when the feelings started to develop to where it's appropriate and not pedophilish

Not great. struggled to finish

not great, the worst one I've listened to with. "friends father" theme. anti climactic. not detailed, no buildup, no real personality in the characters.
