About this listen

"The man is sin, wrapped in work boots and a blue collar."

Blake

I finally had my baby girl back home, but she came with a little baggage in the shape of her best friend. I could deal with that for some more time with my daughter. The only problem is Bay's not exactly what I'd expected. I'd been through hell and back with my ex, but even that didn't compare to the turmoil that girl causes me. My stomach aches every time she's in the room with me, and we're drawn like magnets, but she can never be anything to me. Bay is young, vibrant, beautiful, and totally off-limits. My daughter's best friend has finally injected some color back into my dull life, and I can't seem to give her up.

Bay

It was financial desperation that had me moving in with Georgia's Dad. She and I had been friends since we were kids, but with her parents long divorced, I'd never met the man. Now, with my boxes unpacked and my backpack ready to start college, I was settling down into a room across the hall from her and her dad. The man is sin, wrapped in work boots and a blue collar, and I can't help but capture him in the frame of my camera. It was blaspheme to let such perfection go to waste when it could be encapsulated in film forever. But then he became more than a subject—he became my muse. Right or not, accepted or not, I had to have him. And nobody could stop me. Nobody but him.

Too long

Good story but it was just a little too long. Story felt like it was dragging on and on for the most part.

Beautiful love story

Easy read. I liked that none of the relationships in the story were excessively toxic. If you're a fan of age-gap romance, you'll enjoy this story.

Great performances by narrators. Very hot age gap romance that is relatable and true to life. Loved Blake and Bae’s story.

A Satisfying Taboo Fairytale

Bay & Blake just make my heart smile 💚. Their love was pure and positive with so much vulnerability. Even though there was a 16-year age gap between them, I love and appreciate how mature the author made Bay. It took away the "innocence" that is commonly associated with her age and the possible "ick" factor some may have had with their age gap. I didn't feel any points in the storyline where either person was pressured by the other. Maybe some seduction and confident banter, but everything just flowed between them, making you root for their success.

At 35, Blake was a man but due to him getting married, having a child and then being divorced so young, he was experiencing real love for the 1st time with Bay, which put them at an even playing field when it came to their hearts. Bay loved her some Blake, and she didn't hesitate to affirm him as a man, partner, and father, which is something he had never received before. In turn, he adored and cherished her to no end, allowing her to be herself.

Regarding their family dynamics, the way Georgia treated her friend and father was horrible. She was such a spoiled brat, and I guess Blake is somewhat to blame since he did anything for her to make up for not being able to be there for her the way he wanted as she grew up. That and all the lies Tiffany spewed about Blake didn't help either. The way she treated Bay was horrible, to be called her bestie, but I'm glad in the end, circumstances pulled them all back together. Bay's family was the best. I loved how after the shock was felt in the knowledge of what was going on that they didn't allow their personal feelings to overshadow Bay's. They trusted her judgment, and supported her decisions.

Kudos to the author and narrators who brought these characters to life. This was the best age gap book I've read this far.

6 star potential

Tbh turn out to be one of my first overall 6 stars, extremely taboo, but story is so typical but for some reason the performance is so good I can't decide when to take a pause.

Great story!

Very good narration however I like when the female narrator speaks the female parts and same with the male narrator.
I loved the story and how sweet the lead male was.
