About this listen

An utterly gripping psychological thriller with a jaw-dropping twist

My little girl has vanished. And I can’t tell anyone…

My nine-year-old daughter Hollie should be leaving school smiling and laughing with all the other children but she’s not here. I run frantically, checking everywhere, my voice growing louder, but I can’t see her bright blue eyes and heart-shaped face anywhere. Pure panic washes over me. This is my worst nightmare.

Her teacher asks me if she should call the police. My heart stops. I shake my head and pretend I’ve made a mistake. I see a look of suspicion creep into the teacher’s eyes. But the police can’t know. No one can. My hands shake as I realise I’m completely on my own.

I know in my gut my daughter hasn’t just wandered off. She’s been taken. Someone must know the truth about my past…

I’ve spent so long protecting Hollie, but I always knew this day might come. And I’ll stop at nothing to get my little girl back.

An absolutely nail-biting, addictive psychological thriller novel from multi-million-copy, bestselling author JD Kirk. This book is sooooo fast-paced! For anyone who loves Freida McFadden, John Marrs and T.M. Logan.

A Miss For Me

If you selected this book because you have enjoyed DCI Logan, you might be disappointed. I LOVE JD Kirks books. Always pre-order, and stop what I am listening to so I can jump right in. I enjoyed Him very much. But this lacked the fun, the banter. the clever wit of Logan, Hoon and Filson. I need someone to root for, not a hot mess with mental problems so deep she needs to be institutionalized. Even McCarron's narration seemed excessive; perhaps right for building the suspense, but it only made it worse for me.
I still have three hours left and at this point I just cant face any more crazy. I hung on this long because of my loyalty to Kirk. Might I suggests using another pen name for these dark offerings?

Suspenseful Story

Perfect for: suspense fanatics

The suspense in My Daughter Is Missing kept me wondering the entire book, what could possibly be happening here! As Elizabeth frantically searches for her missing 9 year old daughter, this story gets stranger and stranger as Elizabeth does not act like a typical mother with a missing child. She avoids calling the police, leaving the readers speechless with her antics. It’s obvious that Elizabeth is running from something or someone from her past, but the question is who or what is she running from. And is it so bad, that she would risk seeking to find her daughter on her own with no help from the authorities. Meanwhile, her sister Sasha is conducting her own investigation simultaneously & they can not be “handling the case” more differently as they are polar opposites.

This story was tense, drew out emotions, suspenseful and had several unexpected twists! Overall, it’s a good read and the narrator did a good job bringing life to Elizabeth & Sasha. Recommend for fans of suspenseful thrillers

Bring Back DCI Logan and Hoon

I love JD Kirk. He is one of my favorite authors. I’ll put another novel on pause to listen to Logan et al., Hoon, and Heather Filson. I thought Him was great. But I couldn’t finish this. I was listening to a Jack Gatland when this was released and I was excited, paused the Gatland, but I went back to it. Sorry JD, but please stay with our beloved Logan, Tyler, Sinead, Shona, Ben, Hamza, and the others. Even Cathleen McCarron, who narrates the Filson novels, didn’t sound the same. All around, I was disappointed.

Miss Logan et al

I got this book because I like JD Kirk. I knew what was going to happen with this from the beginning and I don't like that. I think the narrator is perfect for Heather Filson and Tammy Jo, but not for a serious book.
The story was well written and had plenty of suspense but not the things I like about the DCI Logan multiverse like humor and commaraderie. This was better for me than Him because I don't like AI.

Great story

Another great story from what must be the very twisted mind of JD Kirk, aka Barry Hutchison. From Space Team to DCI Logan to Hoon and now this. A captivating story that keeps you engaged from opening to credits. Really good narration on this too!

A Mothers Worst Nightmare!

Elizabeth's nine year old daughter Hollie has gone missing. She is desperate to find her, but with secrets to hide, she cannot go to the police for help. Instead, she is in a race against time and reaches out to a dark figure from her past for help tracking her little girl down.

Filled with secrets and scandal, this psychological thriller will take you for a wild ride and keep you guessing. The book started out fast paced, pulling me in and I quickly found myself invested. It slowed down a bit at times but picked right back up just in time for an explosive ending, proving a mother will stop at nothing to protect her child!

The voice actor did a tremendous job bringing the different characters to life!!

couldn't get into it

the characters were not developed .I didn't care about any of them. The storyline was not one I could buy into and it seemed to go on too long. This was disappointing since I love the characters and storylines of the Logan series. This one was not for me.

Everything

was terrible—the story, the characters, the descriptions, the. dialogue. The author seemed determined to include various body odors wherever possible, as a seventh grade boy might do. If this is the first in a new series, I won’t be reading it.

Predictable

I have read every sing book by. JD Kirk. This was the first one I didn’t like. I guessed about halfway through what was happening. Took me longer to get through because I wasn’t invested in characters.
