This One Didn't Do IT Like The Others

First, I absolutely love Wayne Farrell. I loved The Wayward One (Rory, oh still my beating heart!), Heir To The Sea, or Lord Of The Sea brought me to tears. Ms Harmon's research and knowledge of the sea and it's vessels boggles my mind. However, this story left me wanting so much more. Thirty-six year old Lord Graham Faulkner has fallen head over jack-boot heels for the Pirate Queen of the Caribbean, Miss Maeve Merrick, or Majesty, as she calls herself. She's ONLY 23 years old and is the NOTORIOUS PIRATE QUEEN in her skooner Kestrel.... not.

It starts off with Gray being washed ashore on her little island and they have sex. It's set more on board the ships and about the battles with Admiral Nelson's fleet against Bonaparte and the French... and I really didn't care about the ending as Gray was trying so hard to woo her, even when she's at deaths door she's a troubled runaway.

I really wanted more. I have only listened to the books read by Wayne Farrell, the other guy didn't interest me at all. I am very particular about the narrators and Wayne is heart throb, swoon worthy!

Absolutely loved it!

I have been reading Danelle's books since the 90s and she has never failed to grab my heart with her stories. I loved Maeve with her fiery independence and Grey... What can I say...he's mightily protective, isn't afraid to share how he's feeling, and has a humor that had me cracking up quite often. He breaks out in song at one point and I busted out laughing so hard I scared the woman beside me at work.

The story has great depth and the narrator is awesome. I could listen to him read all the time.
Also would love to hear more about a few of the secondary characters in future references or stories of their own.

Ths is definitely worth the read/listen.
