About this listen

Christina Bennett had taken London society by storm. The ravishing beauty guarded the secret of her mysterious past until the night Lyon, Marquis of Lyonwood, stole a searching, sensuous kiss. An arrogant nobleman with a pirate's passions, he tasted the wildfire smoldering beneath Christina's cool charm and swore to possess her....

But the feisty and defiant Christina would not be so easily conquered. Mistress of her heart and of her fortune, she resisted Lyon's sensuous caresses. She dared not surrender to his love...for then, she must also forsake her precious secret...and her promised destiny!

This book kept me captivated from beginning to end. The story wasn't your typical historical romance and I liked that......it kept it interesting. I recommend this book not only to anyone who enjoys romances but also people who like Native American stories.

I heard this narrator before and I really enjoy her reading. Many people complain when she whispers and I don't understand the complaint. She only whispers when the book says "she/he whispered". How can you fault the narrator for whispering when the author wrote that in the book?

Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and its worth a credit (or better yet if you find it on sale like I did snatch it up quick!)

I loved everything about this book!

What made the experience of listening to The Lion's Lady the most enjoyable?

This book had a great story line. While it was a little slow it start, I will listen to this one time after time again. Great book!

What about Susan Duerden’s performance did you like?

Susan Duerden performance kept me intrigued through the entire book. I found myself sitting in the car, not wanting to leave the story. Excellent

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, unfortunately, this was not possible. I found myself sitting n the car to continue listening until I absolutely HAD to get out.

I’ve always have been a big fan of Julie Garwood books. But I cannot tolerate the narrator of this book. All the women’s voice were creepy and more suited for a horror story. Please take a page from Amy Daws and pay for male and female narrators. I just can’t buy anymore like this book.

Loved the story

I started this book and after about an hour I had to stop listening. The narration was terrible. It was very difficult to listen to. I love Julie Garwood and her books, but this one is going to have to be a read and not a audiobook.

The narration killed it for me

One more to re-listen to!
Loved this story! Loved the beginning where Mary fights to keep the baby girl.
Liked it a lot when Christina popped up in England at the Tons balls and how she reacted to Lyon. How he takes charge kinda.
Susan Duerden as usual did one heck of a job.

Garwood & Duerden done it AGAIN!

Julie has really done it again! A great heroin, with a new story line. No clammy, boring English fellows here - this Lord is just the right one to match wits with Christina. Excellent, highly recommend, enjoyed every minute! The narrarator switched from a young girl, a man, another man to a nasty old countess within seconds and you don't even notice.

Superb narration, fantastic story!
