A chalice of wisdom for our time. (Ernest L. Rossi, PhD, C.J. Jung Institute of Los Angeles)
Milton H. Erickson has been called the most influential hypnotherapist of our time. Part of his therapy was his use of teaching tales, which through shock, surprise, or confusion - with genius use of questions, puns, and playful humor - helped people to see their situations in a new way. In this audiobook Sidney Rosen has collected over 100 of the tales. Presented verbatim and accompanied by Dr. Rosen's commentary, they are grouped under such headings as Motivating Tales, Reframing, and Capturing the Innocent Eye.
My Voice Will Go with You is skillfully narrated by Brian Arens, an Audible listener favorite.

Erickson died in 1980, and many of the examples here are outdated, based on social and cultural values which do not quite apply now. However I am deliberately looking beyond the specifics of his strategies and values to some underlying brilliance which I can use to improve my life.
Erickson is an intriguing man

To be fair it’s a near perfect fit for those in institutionalized style of education who fear the crazy and wild free thinkers like Erickson who slip thru the cracks and maintain wonder and personal power... nor worse the the Autodidactic self starters who question not only others but themselves with such scrutiny we shutter at these 3 first taxing opening chapters...
Otherwise, exceptional resource ;-)
Takes to late in chapter 3 to start up

My only lingering question after reading was. at what point it made mention of a rape that resulted from one patient. What came of that situation? How was it handle after?
This was a beautiful masterpiece.

Erickson’s sense of humor and the way he used it in conjunction with therapy is impressive as well as unconventional.
