About this listen

The breakup was just the beginning...

When college junior Alana Adams catches her boyfriend passionately kissing another woman, she promptly dumps Nathan and turns to her best friend Jacob for advice and emotional support.

At first, Nathan apologizes and showers Alana with gifts in an effort to win her back. He tries to get her to see they belong together, but when his efforts fail, he concludes the real problem in their relationship must be her best friend.

As Alana’s rejection further sinks in, Nathan realizes there’s only one solution to their problem: kill Jacob Talford.

An Unexpected Ending

Breaking up is hard to do and accepting it can be even worse for some. Just ask Nathan.

Nathan absolutely refuses to accept that Alana is done with him. Flowers and gifts wouldn't win her back so he figures killing her best friend Jacob would be best.

Like seriously dude, that is so not going to win her back either. What ***are*** you thinking? Oh wait, you weren't that's why you have no girlfriend!

That awesome brief summary grabbed my attention so I just had to get the book and see how things turned out.

This is a pretty short audiobook and the breakup happens right at the beginning, so no needing to wait for that action. Nathan is caught right out the gate kissing a not really blonde, blonde and trying to act like it really isn't anything. No no, it's not what it looks like, honest!

For this story the narrator does a pretty good job at showing Nathan as the creepy stalker type that gets worse as each day goes by. He also has the right type of energy for Jacob, the funny protective best friend of Alana. However, for the female characters, his voice tone is just not right for the overly dramatic. His voice is too deep for that, :)

This was a pretty good short story. It showed you just enough of each character and situation to keep you interested in the storyline and their interaction with each other and what may happen next, but not too much sappy, drama, super stalkerness to make you want to run away tossing your hands in the air if that's not your cup of tea.

I was absolutely surprised at the ending and if it was a book I could throw I would have. Seriously, end it there? Like what happened to the stalker jerk? Going to leave me hanging, really? I'm going to have to have words with this author, lol.

Not a bad story

This was a short story. It was a sad ending. It's a story about stalking like you hear so many times in the news.

Good Story

NEVER AGAIN Julia C Gilbert
Nathan, wanting Alana to understand that Jane was a good kisser and she was fine with the fun and zero commitment issues. He wasn't going to cheat on Alana, but no fun for him, while she is studying. If they were going. to make it as a couple she had to loosen up. Nate's considering murder, its hard work, its pricey, but she is mine, and only mine. Yet, murder was something he always wanted to do. Can Alana ever be free of him, if he calls her step mother answers the phone. A gripping thriller, right to the end. Good reading, characters well defined. Given ARC audio for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.

An all true real piece of fiction

The combination of story and narration is spot on in capturing the woes of dating, hope, maniacal thoughts and growth of dating and community. As you go through this short work, you wonder how this will go and can feel yourself wonder and plead for things bro go a certain way.

There aren't many voices here but each ring true in their roles and keep you there.
