Publisher's summary

All her life, Sara Gallagher has wondered about her birth parents. As an adopted child with two sisters who were born naturally to her parents, Sara did not have an ideal home life. The question of why she was given up for adoption has always haunted her. Finally, she is ready to take steps and to find closure. But some questions are better left unanswered.

After months of research, Sara locates her birth mother - only to be met with horror and rejection. Then she discovers the devastating truth: Her mother was the only victim ever to escape a killer who has been hunting women every summer for decades. But Sara soon realizes the only thing worse than finding out about her father is for him to find out about her. What if murder is in your blood?

Never Knowing is a complex and compelling portrayal of one woman’s quest to understand herself, her origins, and her family. That is, if she can survive....

Read the reviews first

I wish I had waited to read the reviews before I purchased the audiobook. The narrarator is horrible and her voice simply does not match the 34 year old character. It"s too bad because I loved Still Missing (narrarator and all).

Didn't like the narrator

The story was kind of drag out. Took me a little bit to get into the story. But after it ended up being a good story

Love Chevy Stevens' series

A fantastic interesting twisting story that is frustrating at time but wildly entertaining. This book felt original; well thought out.

Sweet and simple

I found it irritating that the main character seemed sophomoric and ignorant but also found it easy to forgive her flaws because she gained confidence and strength near the end and I enjoyed the story

Excellent engrossing story

This is the second story I have listened to from this author and it did not disappoint. The story was well crafted and kept my interest. Its a new approach by having the main character relate what is happening through discussion with her shrink. There were a number of great twists and it was very enjoyable.

Good...but

I really liked the first book by Chevy Stevens (Still Missing) so I decided to try this one too. While I liked the story, I found myself getting irriated at the main character, Sara, it seemed like she was whinning or having a pity party all the time. None of the other characters did much for me either. All and all it was a good story, just think there had to be a better way to tell it.

Bad narration

I can’t finish this book I feel like I’m listening to a kindergarten teacher. She’s reading Iike it’s a child’s book and I can’t take it. Ruined the book for me.

Just ehh

this wasn't the best story that this author is done but it was still good. Unfortunately I disliked the narrator. she reads in a way that I don't feel fits this book.
