Publisher's summary

Elaine's mission through the fairy ring went horribly wrong, and she finds herself in Pallos once again—over 20,000 years in the future.

All she has are her friends, her magic, and the clothes on her back. Fighting their way out of the wilderness, they quickly meet Iona, a wandering paladin of the Valkyrie order.

She's heading to the School of Sorcery and Spellcraft, and Elaine joins her: To learn wizardry. To figure out her place in the world and where she wants to go next. To get her third class. To kiss cute women. To eat some tasty mangos. To read books, at long last.

New Beginnings

Elaine's life has been incredible so far, but it's going to be hard topping her current situation outside of hitting the level cap. The story continues to be excellent and I am incredibly happy to see divine intervention in her relationships.

Exceeded my expectations!

With the way the last book ended I was scared the author had lost their marbles. Instead I was pleasantly surprised to find a better book than several of the previous.

Do yourself a favor and give it a listen.

Well done Selkie! Well done!

Almost a new series

I’m still liking the series even though it jumped thousands of years into the future.

It is almost a new start to a series, but I like that it’s still counted as the original series as that make it easier to keep organised ;)

It is quite fun to see where Elains previous superiority in healing is now showing gaps and areas with no skill due to progress made in the interim years while she was in Faerie.

Waiting for book 8 to be released in 5 days now.

Feels like a new game

Imagine having a max out character in insert (video game name here), and then you hear news of (insert video game name here) 2 comes out. You buy the game but somehow lose all the power you had in the previous game. Thats how this book feels. Don’t misunderstand the book is still good and has some play on the previous books and I am looking forward to more to come.

Great listen!

Loved it, just wished they skipped over the character building. It was like 15 chapters of them just developing her. Hopefully the next book is fast pace and gets with knight.

The Inevitable School Arc is Upon Us

It is with a heavy heart that I bring you the sad news of a school arc. Yes, that most insidious of manga/anime/light novel culture has reared its ugly head once again. OK, to be serious and honest, it isn't all that bad. I was actually fine with it. There isn't much of the teen social drama you normally get with this type of arc, so that is a blessing. Essentially, this book is an info dump by the author to get us used to the new world Elaine is in without spending several books on it. It is also a chance for Elaine to improve herself, both mentally and physically. There are surely some aspects to the book that one or another person might not like, but on the whole I think it is worth a listen. I'm looking forward to the next book where the story truly starts to move again.

Series 2

A decent restart of the adventure with a few points for future arcs and a 5 year training montage

Fresh Air, Simply Brilliant

Many series, when they go on long enough, hit a low point where the characters are known, the story lines repeat, and the suspense level drops. A good series weathers this and uses it to setup for their next story arc.

This is one of the rare exceptions where it uses the story itself to jump into the next arc avoiding the low point. New challenges, perfect pacing, and a long coming payoff. Absolutely brilliant read.

Great story, with a bit of a problem.

I've enjoyed the story so far, following Elaine's story has been a blast, but permeantly transitioning a pre-teen that you just met who is clearly in the middle of a mental health crisis is just a step to far for me. The MC even rightly discouraged others who wanted to change parts of there lower anatomy. The question of young people transitioning should be addressed, but it deserves more than a 15 min sidenote in a Litrpg. I feel all you did was alienate a large portion of your audience without the ability to change any minds with your story. Overall I like the series and think the author has done a fantastic job.
