Story
Mark’s new life begins in the worst possible place—a burned-out village haunted by undead. Each morning these ravenous creatures disappear, only to return at night, driven by a relentless hunger. He'll need to stay low and think quick, because trapped and alone in the body of a child, he can’t level up in this new world. At least not yet. Soon Mark will learn that even among the living, safety isn’t guaranteed. When the small town that he ends up in turns out to be at the center of a conspiracy that threatens the world, he'll need to uncover the truth before it's too late.

Story
A world on the precipice of the apocalypse. A secret forged in the flames of war. A chance to start over. For John Sutton, only one of those three things matters. Retired from a decade of brutal war, he wants nothing more than a quiet pastoral life while he does his best to stem the steady increase of his Doom Points before they hit 100, signaling the start of the end. He’s been given a small farm on the outskirts of the empire as a thanks for his service, but no matter how far he travels, it's impossible to escape the war's devastating effects on the world.

Story
How would you like to begin an apprenticeship in the mystical craft of artificery? You'll learn things that most people can only dream of. You'll make swords with self-sharpening blades, bows that fire by themselves, and clocks that can read the future. Even better, you'll get to live in the sunlit village of Sunhampton, a sleepy little crafter's village of cobbled streets, cozy taverns, and pleasant bakeries. If this sounds like just the life for you, then grab a beer and a sweet roll, and follow Lewis as he begins his new life as an apprentice.

Story
The usual result of a human taking a runaway semitruck head-on is a very sudden, very fast track to the pearly gates. But for one newly noncorporeal man, there's another option: become a dungeon. Feeling sorry for the desperate angel assigned to him, the man relents. Heck, if it doesn't work out, he can always chat with Saint Peter about it later. Next thing you know, he's a dungeon. Admittedly, a small run-down, somewhat unimpressive dungeon (more of a house, actually), but you gotta start somewhere, right?

Publisher's summary
With millions watching on live stream, a retired British school teacher running his heroic young battlemage avatar, Daxx, and his teammates—Qrysta, an Asian American dual-wielding sword dancer, and Grell, an Australian Orc—win the World Championship of Sword and Sorcery.
Next thing he knows, he finds himself alone in the middle of a wilderness he doesn’t recognize, with no sign of the others. Armed only with a crappy sword he has no idea how to use, and in beginner-level gear, he discovers, to his astonishment, that he is now his own avatar, Daxx. For real.
And wolves are howling nearby, and getting closer.
If he is to find out where he is, and what has happened, and why: first, he needs to survive.
And so the adventure starts, leading to a quest far more challenging than any he has faced before, in which the stakes are not only the fate of the realm, but their very lives.
Critic reviews
“A wild ride through realms and realities that are not only fun to explore but also to savor, with a profound wisdom that all adds up to a journey you’ll never forget.” - Steve Reich, Emmy award–winning writer and producer
“A really believable mythology (and cosmology) which I bought into right from the outset…Fantastic in every sense of the word.” - Nina Spensley, producer, script editor, and writer
“Full of twists and turns and surprises, and filled with great visuals—with plenty of light-hearted fun amid the dangers. I loved losing myself in all the magic, mystery, and mayhem.” - Barbara Strasen, painter and multi-media artist

A genre-bending adventure
A fun adventure story where the setting is not quite what it seems (to say much more would lead to unfortunate spoilers.) This book will appeal to fans of portal fantasy and LitRPG even though the book dodges the common tropes of those genres for something more original and interesting.
I generally tend to avoid books narrated by the author but in this case Richard Sparks performs admirably and it felt like listening to a professional narration.

I found this book enjoyable
As in a lot of books you read there’s quite a bit of backwards and forwards repeating of thoughts and words.. when you subject to listening to every single word, it becomes very noticeable and irritating.
That being said it is a different take on litrpg in which I quite enjoyed..The Author did a fine job of narrating..though sometimes it was hard to distinguish between characters especially between men and women and between soft and loud sounds.
The characters were entertaining. The dialogue was funny at times and the book flowed well… I’m looking forward to the authors second book.

A lot of fun
Delightful storytelling. Full of quirky dialogue and unusual situations. I didn't want it to stop and I can't wait for the rest of the series.
