About this listen

The apocalyptic saga continues in the exciting third volume of this best-selling series. In Nicolae, as the dramatic fulfillment of biblical prophecy is unleashed upon an astonished world, World War III begins. Although the small band of believers called Tribulation Force have been scattered by the outbreak of the war, they draw strength from their faith in Christ. Still working for Nicolae Carpathia, the evil world leader, Rayford Steele helps the believers by passing on information about Nicolae's devastating plans. But spiritual forces have an even greater use for Steele in their battle against the Antichrist.

The works of inspirational authors LaHaye and Jenkins have thrilled millions of readers worldwide, and Nicolae creates more breathtaking visions of what many believe will really happen. Through narrator Richard Ferrone's performance, the conflict builds to a fiery climax that will leave you eager for Soul Harvest, the next book in the series.

wet mouthed narrator

I love the series and the narrator is great EXCEPT his constant swallowing and the sound of breathing saliva. frustrating and gross hearing it constantly, and once you hear it you'll constantly hear it.

Amazing

This is the way it’s going to be. I am listening now as I read it before and everything is coming together as we know how the world is becoming the tribulation does not happen or World War III does not happen till after the rapture.

Fact, and fiction brought together beautifully

The stories of the characters in this book work seamlessly in with actual scriptures from the Bible. I have studied revelations of non-for years, and I think Mr. LaHaye does an excellent job in putting forth possible scenarios to go with each of these judgments.

Faster Pacing Than The First Two Books, I Like It.

As I said with “Left Behind” and “Tribulation Force”: If you are a Christian, I would recommend this book to get a better idea of what the Events of the book of Revelation might be like for those experiencing the events described. If you are not a Christian, I would recommend this book to you as a story first, and not a fictionalization of things to come. If this series makes you crave answers to questions you’ve always had, then I would encourage you to seek those answers. If it doesn’t, so be it.
As I mentioned in the title, “Nicolae” has a faster pacing than the first two books, which I enjoyed. The first two were enjoyable, but had a slower, drawn out pace to them, with one larger pay off towards the end. “Nicolae”, however, had more of a cinematic pace, with several build ups reaching their climax, before slowing down for a bit so the next build up can come.
The only thing I can say about this book is that I am a little undecided about the handling of the 3rd and 4th seals. Don’t get me wrong, from a biblical perspective they were very accurate. It’s just that as hands on as the others were, I did notice that these two did play a smaller role.
However, on the other hand it is a very realistic approach. If you are a Tribulation Saint you would of course recognize what is happening, but chances are If you live through many of the judgements, you might not experience all of them on a first hand basis.
On the subject of narration, I found Ferrone’s acting to be much more enjoyable compared to the first two books. While still a little dry at times, I found the emotion, pacing, and voices to be more well-conveyed. Carpathia’s faint, but still present Romanian accent was excellent, as was Ben-Juda’s much thicker Israeli accent. Loretta’s southern accent, something not mentioned till this book, was also acted very well.
Even thing’s Ferrone seemed to struggle with before, like when a character was crying while speaking, seeming earnest, angry, or acting a man’s versus a woman’s voice was comparatively exceptional.
