About this listen

In this gripping and action-packed debut, an army intelligence officer and a Delta Force soldier must race against the clock to stop a catastrophic terrorist attack.

When army intelligence officer Heather Langstrom's military convoy is ambushed and she's taken prisoner, she knows she'll need all her strength and courage to survive, escape her captors, and report the whispers of unrest brewing in the Middle East.

Delta Force Captain Jace Reed isn't one to throw caution to the wind, but when his team stumbles upon beaten and weak Heather fleeing the terrorist training camp they've been dispatched to destroy, he'll risk everything to get her to safety.

Once back on base, they learn her convoy's ambush was no accident: She'd been targeted. As the evidence of an impending attack mounts, Jace and Heather uncover a deadly terrorist plot that could kill hundreds of civilians.

But Jace's protective instincts and Heather's fierce independence put them at constant odds. And as they close in on the extremists, they must learn to trust one another in order to save innocent lives, even if it means sacrificing their own.

Just an okay read

Story took a moment to rope you in, but did hold my interest, just not many unpredictable moments.

OH MY

I took a chance on Leslie Jones. I am an avid listener to books by Flynn, Sanford, Johnson, Griffin, Tannenbaum, Hillerman and several other authors of their style. Lets say this book is a little different. If you decide to listen/read this title I would not be driving to work during the middle of this book. This book may put you into a state of mind that isn't compatible with the work place. Interesting to say the least. Not the best author but good enough to take for a spin. Yes I enjoyed it. I'm old not dead.

Really good

Really good war story, if not necessarily super well researched. If you can set aside a few minor peccadilloes it’s enjoyable

Love Story

I bought this book believing it would be a thriller military with romance, but it is 90% romance. So it should be under romance only in my opinion.

By any means necessary

We as women soldier's , wife's and Mothers, all fight and defend our country with pride and honor. So for that reason , I loved how the story allowed for all parts of who we are as female soldiers to be known. thank you

Not my cup of tea

This is a debut novel and first in a proposed series about a female army intelligence officer. Our protagonist is Heather Langstrom. Her military convoy is ambushed and she is taken prisoner. She escapes and is rescued by a Delta Force patrol whose officer is Captain Jace Reed. When they return to base they discover the attack was deliberate; they set out to find out why.

The book is well written and action packed. The character development is good, and there are some interesting supporting characters. The story turns out to be a romance story rather than the usual military action novel. The military and medical parts of the story are not realistic for someone familiar with either. This is not my type of story. I will give it three stars because it is an average book and not punish the author because I do not like this type of story.

P. J. Ochlan does a good job narrating the story. Ochlan is an author, actor, voice-over artist and a multi-award winning audiobook narrator.

Beware! This is a romance, not a military thriller

What made the experience of listening to Night Hush the most enjoyable?

Great narrator

Would you recommend Night Hush to your friends? Why or why not?

Maybe - Good character development - strong hero. I must say that the heroine tapped on my nerves sometimes - she seemed to have a chip on her shoulder about being a woman in a man's world. I got tired of her attitude. Also, I find I don't like listening to sex scenes.. when reading a romance you can skip over the details, but with audio you are stuck listening to it.

What about P. J. Ochlan’s performance did you like?

He did a great job with the various accents and even did a good job with the female voices

Any additional comments?

Don't be fooled by the cover - this book is a military romance - not a military thriller.
