About this listen

A serial killer terrorizing the women of Sacramento meets his match in this pulse-pounding novel from New York Times best-selling author Karen Rose.

There is a serial killer on the loose preying on vulnerable women. The only identifiable mark the killer leaves are letters - sometimes one, sometimes two - all carved into the torsos of his victims. Together, they spell “Sydney”.

When he grabs Daisy Dawson, he believes he has found his next victim. But despite her small stature, she fights back with an expertise that quickly frees her. Before fleeing the scene, Daisy also manages to grab what proves to be crucial evidence: a necklace from around the killer’s neck.

The necklace is more than a trivial item - it is a link to a cold case Special Agent Gideon Reynolds has been tracking for 17 years. With Daisy’s help, Gideon finally has the opportunity to get closer to the truth than ever before.

But they might not get the chance, as the serial killer has a new target: Gideon and Daisy.

"Complex, thrilling, and impossible to put down... An engrossing and exciting start to a new series, and one that busts genre stereotypes along the way." (BookPage Top Pick)

"Chilling and remarkably complex, this is a thriller that, for all its length, will keep minds sharp and nightlights burning. An excellent series start." (Library Journal)

"Rose’s Say You’re Sorry delivers on the promise of a pedal-to-the-metal thriller with plenty of developed characters and converging mysteries...to call this book a page turner is an understatement." (USA Today)

For some reason the voice reading this really threw me off. I could not follow the story at all because of it.

Not a fan

Karen Rose is a master at her craft! I love how detailed her books are. I especially loved this one because it has a character show up from the first book I ever read of hers. I’m hoping he will finally get as HEA!!
I’m a big fan of the narrator Joel (Leslie) Froomkin. His voice range is amazing. He brings so much life to the books he narrates!

Another amazing book

I enjoy Karen Rose and this was a great story line with some familiar characters and adding to her previous stories with new characters. But I struggled with listening because of the narration. He would have been better off just reading it than trying to give each person a different voice because he did a terrible job at changing voices.

Good story needs better narrator

I'm only about a couple of hours into the story but having difficult keeping the characters straight as the narrator, quite frankly, is NOT the right person for this story as his interpretation of the characters is .... TERRIBLE!

A very bad choice in narrator!

I am so disappointed, I love Karen Rose books but I could hardly get through this one because of the narrator. He absolutely can not do a female voice and Russian accent was making me bonkers! Then joy of joys I see he's narrated the next book in this series. Do yourself a favor and skip the audio of this one.

Terrible Narrator ruins another Karen Rose Gem

I have to stop listening. I cant stand his voice even when he's not putting on a terrible accent for dialogue.

might be a good book; I will never find out, or at least not here.

terrible narrator

I absolutely loved this book! It was entertaining in every aspect. It’s thrilling, with a little humor and heat! The narrator took a chapter or 2 for me to get used to, but then I rather enjoyed his performance as well. Will definitely be looking into other books by this author

Awesome!

I really liked this story and it was written well. the narrator was awful and I almost didn't continue but the story was too interesting to pass up so I dealt wth it. I was frustrated to see the second book is performed by him but im still going to listen. The sex scenes were ridiculous, I skipped through them. Think part Danielle Steel mixed with super cheesy amateur porn. Completely unnecessary.!

Good Story/Rough Narrator

I really love the books that can make me really feel the people. I love how I can slide right in reading one book to another and feel like I know the people from the books that I just read. i look for books like that. I want it to never stop. The books that are long I livecthat too. thank you to Joel Froomkin for bringing the people in the book to life. I absolutely love Karen Roses book.

wow I was really into this book I couldn't stop
