Publisher's summary
When dreams and nightmares collide, there’s no place left to run.
Dawn breaks over Bison Creek, a sleepy little Wyoming town, to reveal a scene of mayhem. Two bodies lying inside the police station. Both brutally killed. One of them a cop. A man covered in blood sprawled on the steps outside. Conscious but disoriented. Beside him, a gun and a stained Ka-Bar knife.
It’s an open-and-shut case. Every shred of evidence points to Ex-Marine Staff Sergeant Logan Davis, pushed over the edge by his acute PTSD. Logan knows no lawyer can prove him innocent. He calls the only man he knows will move heaven and earth to get to the truth: Axel Blaze.
A bloody trail leads Blaze to a cult leader with ties to rogue pharmaceutical company, preying on the vulnerabilities of troubled veterans, using them as pawns in his nefarious game. These power players will do anything to bury the truth. But they underestimate one thing—a relentless adversary who will go to any lengths to expose them.

It was 1970 in a defeated Rhode Island fishing town. Vietnam and Nixon dominated the national news. Both the near and distant future looked bleak. But they were five inseparable high school friends with something incredible in common: an unwavering resolve to look after each other no matter what hell life threw at them. And they were on a mission. The plan was simple: Go off the grid before they turned 18 to avoid the draft. They’d sell some grass, stack some cash, then head west and start a commune. What could possibly go wrong?

Typical Blaze thriller - non-stop action and thrills
I couldn’t recommend it enough. I’d read this book earlier but when a friend said I should try listening to the audiobook as the narration is good, I gave it a try. And man, it was good. This narrator guy really knows how to keep a listener hooked. With Bill’s writing, it’s nonstop thrills. Audible just might have a convert in me.

Top-notch thriller - Great story and narration
I loved it. High-octane action all through. The suspense was maintained throughout and the thrills never stopped coming. The narration was excellent, which makes sense as the narrator has a background in Hollywood. I was very surprised someone rated it two-stars. If this isn't five stars plus, I don't know what would be one. This was my first Audible listen and what a great start. I'll look for more titles by Bill Runner.
