About this listen

I'm not a philosophical kind of bloke, but I know something about luck. A childhood on the wrong side of advantage will teach you that. It's all a matter of chance. It's both your circumstances and the chances you take. So I've always been a gambler and a ladies man - they love me and I love them. Now I've found one like no other - an American, Allison Wright. When I met her, the fates were on my side, but too soon I learned the odds were against me.

⌂ I rarely give five stars in all categories but No Ordinary Man is definitely 5 star worthy!!

Dave Bates is a powerful, handsome, charming businessman with tons of former women girlfriends. That is his life, he has no expectations and is happy. He had a rough time growing up and as a result has extremes. He can have a terrible, vicious temper. However, whenever one of his ex-girlfriends sends a wedding invitation, he is certain to pick out something nice and expensive for her. He never speaks poorly of his past conquests and seems to maintain a friendliness with them.

One day, on a business trip he runs into the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. She is a stunning, tall redhead. He flirts with her and she banters back – he purposely throws out double entendre's, keeping her off balance and unsure how/if she should address them or ignore them.

She has been in a serious relationship with her boyfriend (also a coworker) for a long time, but Bates is so very charming. She feels a pull toward him, but a responsibility or duty toward her live in, long term relationship.

This book was an absolute treasure to listen to. I did not want it to end. While *I did receive this book book in exchange for my review, this is one of the reasons that I take the time and listen to so many books. This was an absolute gem and I would've used a credit or paid out right for it.

The narrator, Will M. Watt is brilliant!!! He has fast become one of my favorite male narrators. Watt seamlessly moves between many different accents as well as characters. He is a perfect storyteller – I did not hear narration, I was listening to hear what happened next. That is is the mark of an excellent performer. I've listened to 3 or 4 books narrated by Watt and they were all spot on!

Notes: Mature themes & strong language

Once again, I wholeheartedly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys a great, sexy romance with a gripping storyline. Fantastic! Wonderful! Brilliant! More please, now!

No Ordinary Guy byMary Whitney and narrated by Will Watt.

This book captured my attention from the first word. It was interesting to listen to it because it was told from the male perspective. It is not often that I listen to a romance point of view based on the opposite gender, so I enjoyed this book for this reason. It helped that the narrator had a British accent, accentuating the voice of the main character (David).

The varied descriptions of the settings throughout gave it a sense of being there. Additionally, I was able to understand what the characters were going through and feeling, based on the way it was written and read.

I found this to be a great book and recommend it to any one.

Great book from the guy's perspective.

I won't lie and write that I love romance, it's not my favorite genre at all but I do like to change up from time to time. Mary Whitney's story is well written and I think I fell in love with David, yes seriously. I haven't read/listened to Mary's first stories but I think I should've before taking this story on. I found David to be a fun character, loveable, and his way to make women swoon.

Narrator Will M. Watt did a fantastic job with his telling of the story. I thought the accents were superb. I most likely wouldn't have finished this story of not for his narration. He kept me immersed in this story and I had no trouble identifying each character. This is why the story gets 5 🌟, great job picking your narrator Mary. Overall, yes a 5 🌟 rating.

Falling in Love!

Totally smashing in love with David! Not often does a man with a heart of gold step up and win the girl without all the tricks! David put his heart on the line and everyone fell head over hills in love!
Only disappoint was, instead of skipping 30yrs ahead in the epilogue I would of loved to of heard abt the wedding, birth of their children and such before talking abt their children going on dates...
Narrative was beyond spot on! Thank you for allowing me to share the story of a beautiful couple!

Above and Beyond Exceptions, Not to Mention Totally Hot Accent!!

Mary Whitney is a new author for me and I'm always happy to add another author on my audible watch list and a favorite on my chick lit shelf. I liked the interaction of the H/h as their relationship developed from friends to lovers.

Don't think I've listened to Will in the past but I enjoyed his narration of the book. Suffice it to say I was swept from Singapore, to London, NY, DC, SF, and hmmm somewhere Midwest. All in all I recommend to those into light romance, British chick lit, and looking for a lovable book boyfriend.

I had a bloody good time reading this book!

Narrator is fantastic and would love to hear more of his work! The story was a good mix of angst, comedy, romance and heat. Two thumbs up!!

I could listen to him read my grocery list

Funny, touching, and sexy listen. Great characters~David and Allison had a long distance courtship (New York and London) with many ups and downs. Both very successful but with much baggage in their past~it was so fascinating to see their relationship evolve with the help of their loving families (loved brother Pete and cousins Adam and Sylvia). Narration is just superb~epilogue was perfect!

David Bates is the vice president of an investment firm. He is such a good guy who loves his family, friends, and women very much. David is definitely a play boy until he meets Allison Wright. The only problem? Allison isn’t available…
The book was well written. I did not have any issues with the writing at all. I was able to stay on track with the book from start to finish. The narration was also great. Narrator, Will M. Watt, did awesome. All of the accents were perfect, without coming off too strong so that they weren’t understandable. Every character has his/her own accent and it stayed consistent throughout the entire novel. This book couldn’t have been better! Definitely 5 STARS!

I LOVED IT!
